Description This as pony mecha design that I have submitted for the story Gear in the Machine  by SFaccountantSFaccountant  really like the design that I offered and accepted that I do the design for all the other Strider models that will be in the story, with each model being specifically design for each pony tribe and each wildly different in design. The story is a MLP crossover with WarHammer 40k with the ponies somehow show finding themselves in alliance with the the traitorous Chaos Space Marines, go read it, it's as funny as hell. I actually finished the drawing them over two month ago, but lost had trouble doing the weapons mount and background Shaos Space Marines and only finished it about two weeks ago.

The design of the Strider MK-1 is solidly based off the Imperium of Man's Sentinel waker so, so simplicity and practicality was in order, and that is why it lock more like a rust bucket tank with Sentinel legs on it that only share the most superficial resemblance to a pony.

I love working on this piece, it was a lot of fun to imagine how a pony mecha could look like, as I have always been a suck for mecha for a very long time, and I was wanting to draw a mecha pony for a while, and this was the perfect way to go about it.

Much like with the Mk-III... I'm still stunned by how tiny the ponies are compared to the Chaos Marines! Though I will admit I don't clearly recall how large a Space Marine is, especially in armor, compared to normal humans.

Ah, no problem! Found your work through the story cover for Iron Hearts' Book II. The image in particular was of Solon with no ponies present, and since I didn't realize your art's affiliation with the fics, I wondered, "Is Solon an actual figure in the lore?" I'll likely have to ask SFaccountant. And while I'm at it I'll ask a few other things, too...

Well, in the Iron Heart series the ponies are said to be at about groin level to a human, which presumes a human to be about 5' 9" to 6' and a space marinesin the codex  are over 7' to a monstrous 8' tall plus the armor that adds a few inches to them. And if you know the fact the the groin is smack in the middle of a human body so it means that the  haft their hight it means that the average pony is about 2'5" to 2'6" tale. so it would mean that the ponies would barely be above a CSM's knees in full armor. I can't say that I had properly taken into account the perspective an proportions of the image, but that it about the right proportion. That's the best that I can tell about this.

Yeah, I think the perspective is part of the issue, and as a result the ponies look to not even come up to a CSM's knee, and I feel they'd be slightly taller than a CSM's knee. A similar issue occurs with the Mark-III, where another commenter actually mistook the Iron Warrior in the background for a mecha.
