I think this one looks slightly less distinct and sharp than the B&W version, but more alive due to the colours and the vivid background. Also, the gems received more power and shine. I guess it's nearly impossible to do that in greyscale.

I have a feeling there are artists who would have been able to do power and shine in greyscale, but I'm happy enough if you say I managed it in colour. Thanks again!

Glad you're back!! Doing small paintings and studies is a great way to ease back into painting in my experience too Lovely portrait. I especially like the design of the hair and the enchanting, iridescent Nauglamir. His face has a lot of character, and his expression fits his personality well. Fingon is my favorite, though, personally. :^)

Thanks! I took the design of the hair from a photo online, only now I can't for the life of me find the reference again.Β 
I've actually wondered often why I don't love Fingon more - I mean, he's amazing, right? - but in the end it's our favourites who choose us, rather than we choose them!Β Β

I actually did begin a drawing of Finrod and Amarie meeting again after his rebirth, but gave it up 2 years back. Thanks for the suggestion - maybe I'll try it again!

I already gushed over this on AO3, but you know how I love Finrod and this is just so amazing! You always make the eyes seem so very alive, but this time my attention was grabbed by his beautiful, noble nose and his luscious lips! Absolutely breathtaking!
(on another note, I just came from church and an hour's contemplation of my favourite dragonkilling archangel...)
