Finally! my Gundam fan art is finally done. This will be my entry for the upcoming deviant gundam club contest. Gundam RX-78 NT-1 'Alex' from the Gundam anime “Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket. The ‘Alex’ cut open armor was Inspired by cut open automobile car show, showing off half Alex’s main mecha body and half armored armor.Pencil outline, colored with photoshop and illustrator.

This is probably one of the coolest drawings of the Alex I've seen. Love the cut-up armor effect. Mistook this for an official piece of art when I came across this on Google Images, so that's a high honor!

the first MG RX-78 gundam was label in UNT spacy, only latter they change to EFSF. but even for the old NT-1 model kit they are label as UNT spacy, my only theory is that it sounds too close to macross UN spacy, so that officially change it to EFSF.

Amazing! The Alex is one of my favorite gundams, and you've definitely more than done justice to its design here! The cutaway armor view is really cool too. I have the Master Grade model of this gundam, and I suspect if you'd designed that, it would have come out looking ten times better than it did.

Ooh, I really like this. The half finished armor is probably the best part of the picture. Four stars man. Heh, reminds me, I'm getting the High Grade Universal Century kit of the Alex tomorrow.
So sad that something as nice looking as the Alex had to get destroyed. But, to maintain the continuity of the overall nerative, it could never reach Amuro. That and if it hadn't been destroyed, Zeon would have just nuked the Colony which would change it from a bittersweet ending to a downer ending. Oh well.

Sweet! The Rifle looks quite a bit like a Rifle version of the Battle Rifle! lol Like a Non-Bullpup version! XD This Gundam looks so frekkin awesome! Especially the war-torn armor!

Even though this is arguably the worst gundam ever built in terms of durability, armor, AND armaments; i still really like it. it was my first gundam action figure!
I worship any and all people who can draw Mecha (Gundams, and other mecha alike), therefore you are amazing to me! haha. awesome job!

I was never really into Gundam until I found a single model of this dude at the store one day. Never would have gotten it if I hadn't noticed it was named 'Alex'. Seccond I saw that, I was all like "Holy fuck, he stole my name! I gotta have him!"
Yeah, I am named after a Gundam (Alex). Hooray for me!

I agree, with the arm gattlings and beam gun and shield and more mobility it woulda been awesome to see in action. I was shocked at the ending to Gundam 0080, they give you these great characters and in the end they unknowingly fought each other. And they killed Bernie.
