Description

-"It's not my fault. None of this was my fault! You think I wanted this? He plied me with drugs, he threatened me! I was 17! I was just a child!"-

Just a little work featuring a sort of "pre-Eden's Gate-going-loose-on-everyone-but-definitely-still-heading-there-already" somewhat creepy Joseph Seed and a young(er), semi-indoctrinated. addicted Rachel Jessop \ Faith Seed bonding over some, no doubt, low quality, cheap weed in what I imagine is a shady, dark back-alley above a burning trash cannister Joseph is attempting to light his blunt on, in the future Faith's gritty, all-black, tattered, gothy, punk-rock, rebellious, teenage-y attire I feel she wore before becoming the polar opposite and started donning her cultish, manic pixie dream girl, angelic white lace gown and overall persona.

Thank you very much, sweetheart  ~ and yes, she was partially the inspiration  ~ I used to dig that show so hard back in the days.

Oh Faith, what really intrigued me about her is that she's possibly the most or least sympathetic Far Cry villain ever. On the one hand, if her tragic stories about her past are true, then she's arguably just another one of Joseph's victims, pried upon when she was vulnerable and in desperate need of love and stability. But, on the other hand, it's equally possible she's just a bullshit artist extraordinaire. (This is based on what I saw in the game, if there's a clear explanation flouting around on the internet, I'm unaware.)

Love your take on a pre-Eden's Gate Faith, the contrast to how she was in the game is great.

I honest think it's a little both of both, man. Faith was indeed on the receiving end of depression, self-harm, isolation, suicidal tendencies, abuse and manipulation on Joseph's end and he caught and trapped her at a vulnerable time when she was easy to sway, but, oh, dude, she was also a pathological liar, user, a problem child, drama queen and drug-addict way before hand, possibly suffering from a bipolar disorder and the tendency to fabricate things to get what she wants and was ultimately outplayed by an even bigger sociopath in Joseph himself. That's what makes her so very complex and scarily human, I feel. Is that she's a victim and an asshole too and it's all just two sides of the same coin with her. One doesn't go without the other.

Plus, I just really dig the idea of her being this edgy goth chick who grooves out to some, I don't know, really loud symphonic death metal band and then becoming a born again hardcore Christian.

That would make a lot of sense, both storywise and realistically. Lots of victims do indeed become assholes, and her already honed ability to lie and manipulate would make her useful to Joseph, though I agree he'd totally play her at it.
