Hello!
We brought a new puppy with ~Erlist yesterday, so I'm mummy now! I took this photo when we were introducing our little Triss (7 weeks, female) to our dearest senior dog Nikita (14 years, female). We are glad they are something like pals now and Nikita is taking care about Triss like a good grandmother. And finally, she started to behave like guardian dog again (she decided to retire two years ago and these two years she wasn't guardening the house 
). Fun with training and puppy games shall begin! P.S.: both are pure long haired German Shephard dogs

Umm.. you got a puppy that is 6 weeks old? She shouldn't be seperated from her mother and siblings that early. o.o;

Actually the EARLIEST age you should part a puppy from the mother is 8 weeks, better at 10-12 as long as the socialisation already starts at the breeders home (that should be the case with a responsible breeder). I hope you are lucky and won't have any problems with your puppy, my friend got her little guy with 7 weeks and showed aggressive and fear-ish behaviour from late puppyhood until he died with ~8 years. Even though they had a great behavourist and dog trainers helping them. It has a reason it's illegal to rehome puppies before that age.
The age you part a pup from their mother can have a HUGE impact on their social abilty towards people or animals. Hopefully your puppy won't show any of these signs. Good luck!
I would never again take a puppy from that breeder, especially when you say it was the last one left. Sound like a private mill to me who just wanted to save money. But that's just me.

Well, Nikita is 14 and they never had any problems with her (and before they had also one, Rita, which died when she was 12) - both were nice and great security dogs, and Erlist's father thinks that Nikita was even younger when he brought her home 14 years ago. It's not their first dog (mine is
And well, I checked some Czech vet pages before and all suggest 7-8 weeks...

There's nothing more to say than what I already posted (illegal and so on). I just honestly wish you luck with her.

And as I said, it really depends. I also checked our legal system - it says you can take them after 49 days. It's not illegal. The end.
