Description In the Earthian year 2230, the small plasmic planet Hylic [galaxy HUDF-JD2] was "discovered" (in true Christopher Columbus fashion) by humans. It was soon a bustling "Earth Hub" with a booming tourist industry. A little less than a hundred Earth years after its discovery, Hylic's surface rebelled against the invaders, spewing electric treelike lava and swallowing anything in its path. It left no survivors.
In E-year 2353, Earthlings returned a hover-shuttle to Hylic to observe the aftermath of the Hylitian-Earthian Wars. The planet's surface was completely transformed into a twisted forest, as if the lava had frozen in time as soon as the last human had perished. A few Earthian reminders could still be seen as faint outlines of the plasma. A few artists came along the expedition; this drawing was among the documentation.
Today, Hylic remains uninhabited as a Universal reminder of peace and as part of the Treaty of Light and Dark.

Drawing donated to the Milky Way Museum of Accepted History in E-year 2612. Pen and ink on tree paper.

Somestime I almost wish the earth was truely anthroporphic in its awareness and expression. I could see the day a large cloud formation takes shape into a face in the sky, the world speaking in winds and lighting saying something like 'I i think iv had enough of you humans, time for some serious smack down."

Thanks Vince!
I do see the connection now that you mention it. If I'd have seen it sooner perhaps I'd have tried to rhyme the story.

Absolutely wonderful drawing. Did you make up the story? i really like the darkness in this one...the black background and the face in the lower for ground. Spooky, in a way. And very well done.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Alipants In reply to Ravens-Eye-Studio [2005-10-10 19:42:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I made up the story. I mean, I channelled it from the future.
Thank you so much!

You know....channelling from the future is just one concept of how sci-fi is written. Ursula K. LeGuin edited a book about such things. i read it a long time ago (i was about 13). Interesting concept. Not at all out of the realm of the possible, as far as i am concerned.

Cool - is that your story? That's quite a pic - sort of this churning writhing witch's brew of plant and animal - that be the devil's soup!. lol. I'm describing it in a nasty way, but surrealism has a way of looking creepy. It's really well-drawn.

Alipants In reply to CaptainQuirk [2005-10-10 19:45:24 +0000 UTC]

Thank you very much! As usual, I adore your interpretation.

And yeah, it's my story, passed to me from my great-great-great-great (to the 50th degree)-future-granddaughter. So nice of her to think of me.
