Description "THEY shouldn't be here when your mother is out . . ."

My greatest fear is that all this crossover stuff is gonna be a trend for me . . . O_O noooooooooooooooooo!!!

ANYWAY, recently I've been into Dr. Seuss and the Cat in the Hat (book and cartoon (NOT MIKE MYERS!)) So, I have all the songs on the my ipod and I was listening to the Thing 1 and Thing 2 song on a drive to the dentist and my mind wandered off to the Wikipedia entry I read for Animaniacs or more specifically Yakko, Wakko, and Dot. I remember reading that "Yakko was the ringleader and could stop his siblings' actions at the snap of a finger."

Now, I don't know if I honestly agree with what that implies, but it did get me thinking about the Cat and the Hat and the Things. AND TA DA!!! A CONNECTION!!! Thus, this pic began developing inside this squishy thing I call a brain.
I started it last night and finished this morning all the while watching the Cat in the Hat (THE CARTOON) over and over and over and over and over and over and over . . .

It's based on the scene when the Cat first steps through the door . . . I loved that stance XD. The Things were obviously not out at that time, but I felt the need to include the Warner Things 1 and 2 ^_^.

Obviously, Yakko is the Cat in the Hat based on the connection. I suppose some people might be saying that if we were to ignore the connection, it would make more sense for Wakko to be the Cat since he is the only Warner with a hat . . . Well, I made Yakko the Cat and THAT is most certainly THAT! XP

Wakko and Dot as Things 1 and 2 - Honestly, there is no specific reason why I made Dot 1 and Wakko 2. At first, I was going to do it based on the voices in the cartoon (one is deeper than the other's), but it seems that the two Things switch voices mid-song. So, that didn't help. In the end, I just felt Dot was a 1 and Wakko was a 2. BTW, I was very tempted to make Dot's head blue, but I felt she looked better with just a blue flower . . . .

Is it just me, or do the Thing outfits kinda look like Freakazoid's costume? O_o

I'm just kinda listing things that went through my head as I was drawing this. . . . sorry

I took a number of liberties with color, mostly in the background, but I suppose if the Warners are ok, then, it's fine.

RAIN IS A PAIN!

If you're wondering about the numbers of the wall, I have two words for you . . . Calculatus Eliminatus . . . SQUEE!!! ^_^

The Cat in the Hat cartoon is one of the best movies. I suppose I should see the Mike Myers version before I make judgements, but I just have a gut feeling that it's nothing compared to the cartoon, but still . . . I should see it before throwing it to the hounds.
ANYWAY, Allan Sherman is AWESOME as the Cat! XD He sings wonderfully.
I will admit that I've wondered what it would be like if Rob Paulsen voiced the Cat and if Jess Harnell and Tress Macneille voiced the Things. It'd be awesome to hear Monsieur Paulsen sing the songs like Kittenfish and Cat of Many Different Countries. *shrug* Who knows?

Final Notes - The Cat in the Hat is one of the best books/cartoons out there. GO SEE/READ IT!!! Allan Sherman is the best Cat I've heard so far. Calculatus Eliminatus is not such an absurd method of searching for something . . .

AND SWEEP IS THE SADDEST SONG IN THE WORLD!!!!
Seriously, I feel like I'm gonna cry when I hear it . . . ;_;
Well, I guess that's all I have to say for now . . .

*starts skipping away, singing*
Very well, I’m a punk
A cruntunkulous shnunk
Nobody loves me
Not one tiny hunk . . .

This actually happened. Yakko was "The Kid in the Lid" and Dot and Wakko were "Kid 2" and "Kid 3" respectively.

Oh, yes. I can really see Yakko playing The Cat in the Hat. From what I can dimly remember of the book, the Cat and Yakko have similar personalities.

I never knew that anyone had made an animated version of it, though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlienBrainFood In reply to Roxor128 [2006-12-28 01:27:44 +0000 UTC]

Yep, they made an animated version. The awesome thing is that Dr. Seuss helped work on it so - it keeps that Dr. Seuss feel. >_< The songs are so catchy . . .

I need to try and see 'The Kid in the Lid' the Animaniacs parody of the Cat in the Hat - the closest thing to Yakko playing that part. ^_^

Thanks for the comment!!!

"The Warners and the Beanstalk" parodies both Jack and the Beanstalk and also Green Eggs and Ham.

Giant: I will not eat gold eggs and meat. It's...
Warners: Us that you would like to eat.
Yakko: Eat them, eat them, on a cloud.
Giant: Oh, alright, for crying out loud. [eats them] Mmmm. Gold eggs and meat I do not hate.
Yakko: But now those clouds won't hold your weight.

I just transcripted that bit just now. I bet if Animaniacs had continued to the present day, they could have found loads of other fun things to parody.

Just imagine Animaniacs take-offs of the events of the past six years...

I wouldn't put it past the writers of Animaniacs to parody that fiasco over George Bush's first election in the US. Heck, I think they'd probably regulary parody whatever idiocy George Bush was up to.

One thing I would love to see is the Warners paying John Howard a visit down in Canberra. Heck, I bet most Aussies would love to see that. That idiot is never going to get my vote.

Maybe the DA Animaniacs community should try and make new episodes for the show?

AlienBrainFood In reply to Roxor128 [2006-12-30 02:35:23 +0000 UTC]

XD Ha ha maybe . . .
either that or write WB and tell them to look through the newspaper and instruct them to picture the Warner children in every single photo . . . maybe the inspiration will choose to strike

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roxor128 In reply to AlienBrainFood [2006-12-30 07:59:51 +0000 UTC]

That could work. I'm sure we'd get some interesting episodes if they did that.

XD most definitely. I have no idea why, but now, every time I see some sort of controversy in the media, I'm going to stand there for a moment and wonder silently . . . 'what would the Warners do?' X3 tee hee
