Last week's Thursd- Okay, it was really done on Saturday, but eh. Cover your eyes, folks, 'tis color fun, landscapes and alien robots?!!?! It's like all the things I draw...IN THE SAME STRANGE PICTURE, gragragraaaagh. Subject-wise, the consensus on this one has been, "I don't know why you drew this. It's...weird."Apparently the narrative is a little nebulous on this one, but... ;_; I couldn't fix it! I'm actually pretty unsatisfied with this one, but I think I've boxed myself in at this point, sob sob.
There's been a couple times where my visual memory freaks me out, and this is definitely one of 'em. Why and how I managed to draw an Eva doppelganger...clueless, truly! Ah, well, better luck with originality next time. -twitch-
I've been "covering up" my brush strokes less as of late. Noticeable? Good? Bad? Nightmare-inducing?

The lighting on this is fantastic! I just love how it reflects off of the robot. The light blue lights you've included in the robot really make it interesting. And I know this may sound really random, but the little grove to the left of the image...it looks amazing, how the light's filtering through the tree trunks/foliage.

awesome. i want to see more of your robot thingies..studies or something. lots of really good lighting going on in here. in terms of brushstrokes, i like the raw/energetic look that you're experimenting in. i should probably be commenting on japanese art instead of your stuff, seeing as we're both in class right now...hehhh. anyways, mix up your brushstrokes and be very particular about the sizes- smaller strokes as you fade into the distance, etc. or you could fade them out. or both. i dunno..

Hmmm, you're right about the arm thing. I thought the brighter red would be enough, but it does need some edge lighting.

Ya'll are kind enough to impart your hard-earned knowledge with me, it's really the least I can do to try'n soak it all up. I'm actually one of those annoying kids-who-like-learning, though. ~_~ Ew, right?
