Taking days and nights to end,
In the end, for the benefit that is mutual,
It was called a draw and those gears of war of theirs exchanged...

Looks like Unicorn won the fight...
Given the brutal and barbaric nature of this design, I wonder if their domain is a constant war zone (well resembling the wars from the 19th century).

I guess your starting to realize what going through conceptional phase is like which is what concept artists go through several revisions before getting the final product.
I think you can still go what you had in mind anyway and it's up to you to decide if you feel satisfied with the design or do you feel to make a redesign before becoming satisfied with the final product, in the end it's only up to you.

Well this is very confusing & inconstant which when I first saw this picture I first thought you 'combined' both characters (which I thought was creative) by the Unicorn wearing Lion's Skin (as if he won...) thinking this is both Lion and the Unicorn (The Unicorn apparently killed the Lion and wearing his skin as a Trophy) and the title I thought you forgot to add Lion on there.
But when you announced you were going to do Lion next which was when you confused me thinking you already did Lion...Unless of course your thinking of something really creative for the Lion however...

I just started with a random sketch and thought it would be interesting if one of the sides had won, thus came the combination idea. But I later wanted to work on the lion as well, drawing him with the unicorns clothes that appear in John Tenniel's original illustrations. Thought they could be the ''what if''s of eachother.
I ended up with a different idea though. I'll decide if I did the right thing after I finish coloring the lion.
