Stoked to finally be able to share this painting I did for Magic: The Gathering's new Dominaria set.A bit of a reprise on two earlier cards I did obviously, this was a ton of fun to work on. Much more challenging than the other two though, since getting the wings, but only the wings to stand out against an entire backdrop of stained glass turned out to be much more challenging. I can't imagine what the thumbnails and color sketches for this piece look like. One of the most gorgeous card arts I laid my eyes on. I commend you immensely for using so many colors and getting those wings to stand out too!

SchΓΆne dynamik, tolle Farben... ich bin begeistert. Kommt fast an mein Lieblingsmotiv von dir; die Illustration zu "Gift of Orzhova" ran.
... aber nur fast, das andere Motiv hat bei mir einen Nostalgie-Bonus, weil es in den letzten 5 Jahren vermehrt mein Bildschirmhintergrund auf allen mΓΆglichen GerΓ€ten war... xD

I can see where that would be challenging. Making the wings so much brighter and more saturated did the trick though. Even at a small thumbnail like on the cards, the eye is drawn to the wings.
