Do you bake the super sculpey as you work, or do you wait until the entire thing is done (or do you just never bake it at all)? I tried doing an anatomy study with Sculpey once, working on top of a wire armature. I was happy with it at first, but then it just kept crumbling on me. I had baked it part way through and even the parts I wasn't working on were cracking. I haven't done anything with Sculpey since then (like 4 years now).

It depends on what I'm working on. I will usually block in the form and bake it so I have a solid surface to sculpt on. I don't like it when the sculpey moves around. Then it depends on how much detail I'm putting and whether I'm happy with the forms or not. If it's really detailed, I will tend to bake as I go, so that I don't smash the details on the opposite side while I work. Make sure to bake all the way. Half bakes will only cause crumbling. I bake at a lower temperature but for more time. 225 and instead of 15 minutes for every 1/4" of thickness, I do 30 minutes. Then I let the piece stay in the oven overnight so that it comes own slowly to room temperature. Premature cooling will cause cracking.
Cheers!!

hm. the left arm looks way too "small". the right seems to become same.
i wonder why u dont recognize, you normally do so great and proportional works.
besides that: great head and muscles.

Thanks for the notice on the arm. I have noticed and it is being corrected. I think the problem was that I was working on the arm while it was off the body, and I lost the reference of size. Everything will be properly proportioned (for a super hero) when it is finished.
Thanks again,
Alfred

i know this prob when i do hands or head. milimeter´s too big or small, and all may look weird.
i watch your progress, will be a great sculpt im sure.
