(EDIT, August 09: to those who have seen the related scribblings on MTS2. Know this: Button =/= the dude in this picture. xD It's kind of hilarious how I'm completely failing at getting this across.So here's the full story about the creation of the sim:
I started Button with an intention to create a patchwork doll first. Around that time I was fiddling around with a second version of this painting. I fell back in love with the color scheme and such, so I combined the doll and the painting and got the Sim.
This is Tom. Tom is not Button.
Oh well... Just smile and nod for your silly Auntie Alfi.
)Finally finished this thing.
As per usual. I'm not sure it's acutally -done-. I'm just done with it.
Lord knows how many hours I've poured into it. 60+ EASILY.
As such, click full veiw and check out his arm hair and chapped lips. Please.
GAH. Now that I've decided it's done, I keep seeing more and more errors.
Oh yeah, technically, this is Tom again. From years ago. Reference is a dozen frames in this youtube vid. [link]
But I got carried away, it's still him... but kind of not. It's become more my own and less him I think.
And some research of my own for details. The buttons are all mine.

So I got here from MTS, and I swear to you thst my first thought upon seeing the thumbnail was 'What actor is this?Where did you get this guy?'
And then my second thought was 'Whoah your Sim looks just like him'.
And now I find out it's just a painting.

I'll have you know that not only do I LOVE Button the Sim, because he is BEAUTIFUL, but I also love this painting, and all the hard work you put into that as well. It really, really shows, and I'm utterly delighted by both.

I'll save myself from typing the same thing for all of your portraits, but honestly, why so awesome? I absolutely love all the intricate details you've put into this - you might've gone kind of insane over the 60+ hr (hopefully not non-stop) drawing period but looking this, I swear it's time well worth. The hair is just so detailed, every strand is defined and curly hair is just so hard to draw. Another thing that really stands out for me is the way you've painted the skin. It looks more textured and so much more real. I've been looking at a lot of portraits (and magazine photoshoots) lately that have really smooth blending but the airbrushing just makes the face look kind of plastic. This is just brilliant. *faves*

It drove me to start all over again when my father said he had "porcelain" skin. Ha. Featureless skin is so boring. I adore the process of detailing skin. And I'm so glad the effect works for you.

I followed this from mod the sims....all i can say is if could draw like you i would never do anything else...i have known many artists like you who can only see the "flaws" but please everyone once and awhile step back and think....if someone else had done this would i like it? Thank you for sharing your talent.

No, seriously. It's awesome. I guess if you're disappointed with your own work that's something personal that I can't understand. But it's still awesome.
BTW, I didn't know of the existence of Mod the Sims before. God, I haven't played that addictive game for years. I'd download your sim if I had the time ¬¬

(Yeah, MTS is amazing. And horrible. Luckily, whenever I set out to play, I get distracted by drawing. Otherwise, you'd never see me again. ^^)

i seen this on your upload for Sims, and followed your links to here. i am absolutely in love with this picture <3 it's gorgeous. each little hair and wrinkle and stripe is absolutely perfect. :-D the 60+ hours were definitely worth it so says i. <3
