I have an odd obsession with mushrooms...
I was going on a walk down an old dirt road with a dear friend of mine, and we came across a red toadstool with yellow spots, and we got into a conversation about Super Mario Brothers. That conversation was very speacial, and one of my favourite memories of me and that person. We went back later to find the mushroom, but it was gone...

that is one trippy looking mushroom. i found a gigantic mushroom in my backyard and took a bunch of pictures of it, but this one is so much more interesting

See for us people out here in LA that mushroom toadstool thingy is completely cool and unique considering i have never seen anything even close to resembling it except in photos and drawings......very cool

The name of this fungus, which is inedible so therefore a toadstool, is fly agaric & it is HIGHLY poisonous...which is cool. It gets it's name from the fact that flies find it smells lovely. A common fly trap back in the day, was a dish of milk with bits of fly agaric in it. The flies would land & then die horribly...
If you eat fly agaric, you get massive stomach cramps, have wild hallucinations...then die.
Fab photo though - it's a great specimen & you captured the colours vividly!

I've never seen a mushroom like that before. All the mushrooms around me are grey or white that's just very cool! Such a nicely composed photo as well, looks like something out of Alice in Wonderland.

it's not a sucky shot. the focus is excellent, as is the composition. I like how the main mushroom is on the left of the frame but you can see another in the background. it's nice and crisp, and you found a great mushroom specimen. no suckyness.
