They are demons of Shin Megami Tensei series.
Nyarlathotep is the final boss in Persona 2, a spin-off of shin megami tensei So I see no problem with put them together.

I know what they, I can even identify most of them, I was guar wondering why they were there. Is the Crawling Chaos manipulating them?

Is because represent the tower arcana in some games (Persona 3 and 4)
In Persona 2 the Lovecraftian demons represent the tower arcana (sometimes) ...so I put Nyar like the boss, father and master of that arcana...

I miss Nyarly a lot since Persona 2... I hope he comes back 
As for the drawing... work a little with the tentacles and the textures of.... well... kinda everything since all I feel about this is fear and horror and the character doesn't develops that in the story (not that much at least), and I don't think Nyarlathotep has those kinds of mouths.
In general, the drawing it's excellent, I like that idea of the demons (or reverse Personas) in the background. Good job.

Yeah Nyar was the best villian.
I wanted to exaggerate his features to give more presence, maybe that's why I draw it in that form.
