No offense to your friend , but... this is an awfully generic design. It's like he went for the least offensive and most conventional and gender-conforming design possible. Nothing's unique about his design, nothing is standing out about it. Just my opinion though. I mean nothing bad with it.

It's a guy in armour, doubt it was ever meant to re-invent the wheel. Plenty of people put together simple designs in this community just to have a character to be identified with. Some are more concerned with story
