Description Just imagine, 400 years ago there was nothing but fields of grass, marshes, indian huts and trees here.
Where will next century take us?

Alexiuss: Is this perhaps Chicago? I ask because the weather was *precisely* like this last week with lake-effect fog, and this looks awfully familiar... and it's a fabulous photo. Always love your work.

Nice atmosphere and perspective! I also like how the light rays reflect off the tall building on the right.

twas quite magicall outside when I took the photo. Really low, transparent mist everywhere!

JeBuZ [2005-02-12 12:18:23 +0000 UTC]

I really like the low saturation of the buildings and the mistyness in the that surrounds the background and some of the buildings that are close. And that rocket thingy is a nice detail.

alexiuss In reply to JeBuZ [2005-02-12 18:05:35 +0000 UTC]

thanks! twas probably one of em fast planes though, as a rocketship sighting in Toronto is rather unlikely.

JeBuZ In reply to alexiuss [2005-02-13 10:38:02 +0000 UTC]

Haha yea probably not likely. But you could just say that it is, just for the sake of the picture.

Very nice photo, I like the angle and the distant mist

alexiuss In reply to Fishermang [2005-02-07 18:56:36 +0000 UTC]

it does have a surreal look to it, aye.
The fog was very low and it was very sunny, and the sky completely clear.
Also, the fog made every light ray magically visible as you can see on the reflection of light on the blue skyscraper.

twas. The sun rays, reflecting off every building, made visible due to the mist were really rather neat.

heh...back again, may i ask where this picture was taken?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

alexiuss In reply to YoshiX [2005-02-07 04:59:10 +0000 UTC]

Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Toronto is a pretty young city compared to others.
"We kicked the Indians out, cut down all the trees and build a bunch of iron and glass mountains" seems to summarize its history nicely.

YoshiX In reply to alexiuss [2005-02-07 21:52:48 +0000 UTC]

Lol. I live about few hrs away from TO. And I usually travel alot to different countries around the world. And have been in TO many times, but I've never seen that area...guess i'll have to find it later.

Thx,

Yoshi

P.S. like your summary of our history
