A) I know what you mean XD I had to simplify the entire back catalouge of Shakespeare's plays for my school paper two years ago. It does hurt to cut out characters XD
B) COLOUR!!!! WOW.

Thank you. ^_^ I really do like to color pages, and I don't do it very much.

Actually, I was following that anime with great interest; I found an announcement a few months before they started to air it during a routine internet search for Les Mis. I started to watch it when but I lost interest after a few months when the episodes got taken off youtube and I couldn't find the anime online. I ought to give it another try. ^_^
I'm also glad that you caught the Gypsy/Romanian characteristics of the way I'm drawing Javert! Truth be told though, I'm still having a lot of trouble with it. I wish I could just find a good route to study different physical characteristics based on race without finding things that feel like racist caricatures. >_<; It feels super-awkward. But Javert's own lineage and family are so often ignored in his character designs, which irks me. There are authors who skimp on the character descriptions, leaving them open to interpretation (Oh, RLS...a page of description on Utterson, and so little on Henry? ), but Hugo was very generous with the details on Javert, so I have to follow what he's said. And I gave Henry a ponytail (still can't shake the musical's interpretation. Another literary sin), so I've used up my quota of non-cannon long hair.
Whoa, that was a little long. But tl;dr, thank you!

I understand. J&H is one thing, but Les Mis is a long, difficult read. If you get a chance, check out the musical; it's a very good adaptation. There's a bunch of movies out there too; including one with a really excellent Liam Neeson playing Valjean. It's the first version I ever saw, and though it screws up the plot a bit, it's still a fantastic rendition.

I remember, what eight years ago. It took you almost three hours to tell me the story of Les Mis. But I have a feeling you could have gone on for much longer about the story. ;D

That whole trip is a whirl of happy memories. I'm pretty sure there's some filmed footage of it too, since that was the summer I got my camcorder.
