I could not believe it as well as I took a charcoal pencil but it is really my first drawing experience… but I use photos of course. It's not my imagination. I don't know how to explain this...

In my opinion, you shouldn't worry about starting only now. Maybe you just do things, when it's right time for them in your life.
Well, I wasn't any artist as a child either. Tried something at times, but didn't get much good out of it.
And, similarly to you, I still rely much on photos. Maria, of course, is on different level.
