Type 10The Type 10 (10式戦車, Hitomaru-shiki sensha) is a fourth-generation Japanese main battle tank, manufactured since 2010 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), where it entered service in January 2012. The latter which was designed to support the Type 90 tank and replace the Type 74 which was made obsolete in 2012. Compared to other main battle tanks currently serving in the JGSDF, the Type 10 has been equipped with improvements in its ability to respond to antitank warfare and other contingencies.
