haha, that's okay. Sometimes you're just in trouble and all you can do is go forward.

Thank you, I'm glad you like it ^^
I hardly ever show the fact that Razen is extremely protective of his friends xD

Thank you! I'm glad you like it ^^
I haven't really done a lot of pieces with little Lilly and Razen (and I've been waiting forever to draw out this scene, it's tweaked a little to avoid spoilers, but still XD) And it was interesting to do rain again, I hadn't realized that it's been so long since I last attempted to do it!
It still doesn't look quite right, and I need to get better at drawing wet clothing, but hey, overall it was fun xD
Thanks again ^^

You are more then welcome!
I would love to know the background of their story!
Jeez! Your pictures just scream, "Original Story."
To be honest I am surprised you did the rain yourself.
I tend to digitally create my rain in my scenes. But I
never tried to create rain on my own in drawing it out.
I think you did a great job on the rain and on the
wet clothing. You even got the clothing all wrinkled
up like its wet. You definitely got this one in the bag! XD
It looks like you had a lot of fun with this picture. It also
looks like it took you a while to get it done to! (O.o)

Well, if you're interested, I did put a little backstory up into the description (recent addition). They have been forced from their home, and are now traveling to the only town Razen knows this side of the Mists, Madrill. What do they expect to find? Not even they know, the only thing that's certain is that they need to keep moving.
Haha, well I generally use the mobile app Autodesk Sketchbook. It's pretty capable, with a lot of interesting brushes, but, it doesn't have a lot in the way of effects or digital manipulations. So pretty much everything you see is just sketched out, drawn and then fun digital effects are added. When All was said and done, I think there were 30 laysers in this canvas. I'm going to try and upload a GIF of the drawing process soon. Awa, thanks >///<
Yeah, it was fun, and I suppose it did take a lot of time XD it's really easy for me to lose track of something like that.

I read the backstory and it was tough to read how much
they went through. Man, the struggle is real in this picture.
And I would have never noticed the veins on Lilly body if
it wasn't for the story. I love little details like that.
Razen seems like a really cool character to.
I've heard about Autodesk sketchbook. It seems like
a pretty good program. Its gotta be good if you're creating
awesome pictures like this one. I use Clip Studio Pro.
Thirty layers!? Holy cow! that sure is a lot. Although, I know
what it's like. One of my pictures for my series known as, "Carriers"
took me seventy two layers to finish
Oooh! I can't wait to see the GIF Of the drawing process!
That would be interesting to see!
Yea, it can be easy to lose time when working on a project.
I personally time myself when I do each piece. Just to see
how long it will take me.

Things only get more complicated from here on out. If it's any consolation, they're both pretty damn tough. Haha, well I'm glad the story was useful for that. I tend to like sneaking in little details.
Ah, nice, I've used a little bit of clip studio. It's on my little computer which is a little harder to use than my tablet... (part of the reason why I don't use that program so much-) Yeah, any time that I use backgrounds, my layer count goes way up XD With a simple backdrop, the count tends to be 10, with a more complexes backdrop it tends to be round 20. (my tablet has trouble when I do anything larger than 30 though, so don't want to push that to much) Whoa! 72 layers?! That's a lot! How long did you work on that one?
Welp, it's up! Rain (The Mists) GIF Drawing Process! It's nothing special, but it is a break down of what I tend to do.
Oh? That's cool! I used to do that with my pen and ink architectural renderings of houses and small businesses. Part of the reason I stopped that business was that it took 25 hours to produce a drawing (not to mention additional framing and running around) and I was way undercharging XD I am getting faster, but it still takes a while XD
So do you keep a record of how long it takes you to do pieces?

(sorry for the late reply)
If your interested in the veins, I could put together a little tutorial. As I recall, I kept it pretty simple, standard brush, air brush (for a color variance) and smudge tool with a change to the layer effect/opacity. Kind of drew them like old scars~
Damn, the freeform tool?! That's amazing! You really do make the clone tool work well for you.
Yep. Honestly, it could be less, but I get a little anxious when it comes to combining clothing layers...even if they are just basic coloring XD I always feel like I'm going to need to edit something later~ just me being paranoid in drawing I guess? XD
Wow, you really made those 72 layers sing. That is seriously beautiful work!
Yep, high stakes pen and ink linarts; not unlike this Scarlet Shadows Expression Meme excerpt save no color and no digital effects to save my butt if I screwed something up XD Nothing fancy like 3D renderings or anything like, that, just the best of a building. Oh, so you once thought of becoming an architect? That's cool!
Well I was about 14-15 at the time I started it, so it was more of an issue of having people take me seriously. It was also difficult to get people to understand the concept of commissioning XD They kept thinking that I was trying to sell them a damn drawing of someone else's house! XD
May I ask how do you keep track of the hours you draw? Oh dear, sleep is important!
Yeah! You should! That would be cool to see how you do your work!

It's the first time in a long time that I've tried rain~ I always think that it's going to be easier than what it is XD But it was fun to play with!
Thanks ^^ It took a while to get the poses right, so I'm glad you like them ^^ This is one of the first scenes I had of my story, so it's an old concept, but happens pretty early in the timeline. It was nice to draw it out!

Yes it is! I just have a couple of things to figure out stylistically before getting back to drawing it out.
Haha yeah, I guess it is a bit like a scavenger hunt!
