After taking my last submission I literally sprinted over to this other composition a couple of hundred yards away. A good tip for any landscape photographer is to prepare your shot in advance if possible, that way when the great light comes, you are ready and may only need to make minor adjustments to your composition before taking the shot.Related content

I totally agree with your comment too and I know it's something I need to put into practice. I've missed out on capturing something special a few times just from being underprepared and not giving myself enough time to explore and find the best composition.

This place is incredible! There are so many textures, and the clean, smooth lines of the waves are gorgeous, the rock add great depth... Man, it's just beautiful.

I looked at both of your shot before deciding which one to prefer. At first I thought the other one, I liked its more calm composition, the sun setting, the less-landscape format.
However, after letting the image work on me, I prefer this image. It is more balanced, especially the foreground is less imposing.

To be honest I prefer previous one. The main reason is position of the sun and here is too much foreground with grass in my opinion. Otherwise this is still great capture.
