global as in to the whole image. Its just a phrase, if you do something globally you are doing it to everything.
Thanks Drew

I see, was there mist in the air to get the sun rays?

I like the other forest mist shot more for its overall mood, but the dawn yellow hues and detail in the fir tree tops make this I think.
Leave the saturation though.

what sort of response is that?
I know its late, but thats a bit...well...weird.
I have discovered why alot of my shots have a yellow/grey over tint to them. Its a sigma lens thing. Just something the lenses are common at casting a very slight, almost an ND warming filter, tint to them.

Alex37 In reply to lakemans [2008-11-13 00:19:19 +0000 UTC]
well if you make the sound it sounds like someone agreeing....
well the greyness has nothing to do with the lens, the tint might. The greyness is an exposure error (underexposure), nothing more. The cameras metering system sees thorought he lens so it would compensate for any very fractional darkness in the glass. Some lenses do flare (as you know) so that could result in a lack of contrast but that would be more of a white overlay for a correctly exposed file.

The light is great Alex. I might do some light brushes to highlight a bit of green in the trees but it really is fine as it is.

Alex37 In reply to JakeSpain [2008-11-12 17:58:59 +0000 UTC]
yeah, maybe, but it wasnt natural saturation and I didnt want it to look like it was incredibly golden. I dont know, I might have another play
