Yes, and the extraordinary power to mimic the environment. This photo was shot in an area where 90% of the flora are maritime and insignes pines with identical leaves the body of the caterpillar.

Is this, by ani chance, the Io Moth caterpillar? I´d love to see the moth itself...it´s really gorgeous

The truth is I do not know. (I'm a chemist, not a biologist). The size of the photo caterpillar was about 5 cm (2 in) long and 1.2 cm (0.5 in) in diameter. Regards.
