Now, we know! The time we meet, I'll just splat your face apart, knowing you won't die.
And after you re-form, I'll do it again!
I have to satisfy my needs in a no-killing place, you know!
Also, congratulations for winning the tournament, it was well deserved!
I'm sure you're fed up with this particular compliment, but it's amazing how fast you produced these fights. I wish I had some turbo-mode like you, and I could make more fights but alas, I'm lazy ass and it can't be helped at the moment.
The usual winner's fanart is coming though, and it will be throughoutly awesome.

That was clever! How long have you had that in mind? A great end to a fantastic set of fights. My only real issue with Hel is that she is so powerful (and her powers are so vaguely defined) that in some earlier fights I think there was a sense of new powers emerging to fit the situation you wrote her into! Honestly though, that isn't the case here. This last twist is totally in keeping with the character you've built up - good stuff! I actually thought the ending was taking a much more suinister turn - I thought that Hel's new body was her opponent, restructured using the nannites! But we had a (sort of) happy ending instead, more in keeping with this nicer no-killing AFL.
Hope this isn't the last we've seen of Hel! I sense a team up with a certain white suited time traveller in the future...

i didn't plan on having a final fight at all, but the thought of having hel die in a fight and return this way was in my mind right from the beginning of afl, but i never got the chance to do that before the finale (i also had an idea about a pack of evil furbies in a toystore ripping some opponent apart )
i know what it may look like, but hel isn't that powerful if you see it from my perspective. it's not like in her ascended state she's omnipotent or so, it's more like: where's no technology, she's helpless but where is technology, she can do anything. in the bootsiQ fight, i really had to do some deus ex machina, i give you that, but that's only because i thought it was kinda stupid to simply knock her out
even during the second part of the finale i was still unsure how to end the fight.
on one hand i thought about the people who read this and may demand a furious victory, but on the other, i wanted to treat leighs character with the necessary respect, so i decided that beating her half to death would be of no use and went for the ending i eventually painted
lol, maybe! just ask her assistant (a.k.a. me) to look for a free spot in her schedule!

Sir you`re the master of shocking twists, the panel where Hel is returning to her body reminded me of Prince of Persia movie when the Dagger is used , these pages were a twist after another

Firstly man, I apologize for the comments made here. Not only is it unprofessional, but hugely embarrassing, and I dont think I have come across it since I have started AFL. So please ignore those comments as they are irrelevant.
So, on tot my comment. I gotta say, you did it again man. Great pages, great fight, very lovely to see. Really felt like a movie playing out with some great action. It was fun to see the fight go at a cliffhanger and seeing where you were going to take it, which is a very interesting twist. It opens many questions about the character and the race, but it shows Hel for what she is, a truly all powerful being that is above the actions of man. It may have not been a dynamic finish that everyone was expecting, but you delivered that one pages 1 and 2 and it was good to see an unrevealed side to the character.
Anyway, I enjoyed this epic entry man, and I have hugely enjoyed your participation in this year's tournament. I wish you luck in the result.

I read, and besides, I think its 's first developed character for...anything, I guess. Unless you can send me a link of another character to counter this, I'm sticking to it.
Still, it looked like this last page was an ass pull. I don't remember anything even hinting towards the revelation. All I could see from reading Hel's fights were that she was an ancient, super-intelligent being who builds lots and lots of robots. I don't really see where the 'energy-being' idea came from in this fight or any of the previous ones.

you know what? i'm fed up with all this debating. i could tell you about like 50 other characters who did things their profiles didnt inform about or that i didn't develope hel for afl in the first place, but i really don't fucking care!
i delivered a story with lot's of action and plot twists and cliffhangers and all kinds of other stuff to make sure it is a thrilling read for everyone.
also i didn't win it with the five point palm heart explosion technique, so leave me alone for gods sake.

Jeez, can you please calm down? You are taking this way too personally.
Yes, there have been, and are going to be, people who use characters for AFL with ridiculous powers and such. Its going to happen and not a lot of people are going to catch them for it. You are a different sort, though. You seem to create characters of incredible power and skill. However, this can result in other people creating characters like that just to stand a chance. It feels disappointing that less baseline characters (i.e. Cell, The Fowl, etc.) seem to be popping up in AFL.
Also, I'm not complaining about all of your artwork. Its amazing, and you really know how to design characters. Your stories are also impressive, albeit when your own characters tend to act 'unsurprised' at events around them. This is supposed to be a criticism to benefit you, but you do not seem to take the time to understand the point behind it all. You have this incredible talent and some of us are trying to help you with it. You got to accept the good with the bad in life, especially in artwork. Not everyone would be accepting with your work like most of us in AFL.

i'm not responsible for what others do.
when i entered with hel, i checked the contestants who were signed up so far and most of them were hand to hand street level fighters, so i thought bringing a more exotic character into the mix wouldn't hurt.
sadly most of the people who entered with those hand to hand characters didnt submit many fights, but thats not my fault.
and it doesn't matter what kind of character you bring in anyway, as long as the writing works.
most of the time hel didn't even use her powers at all. she beat her opponents with a magic revolver, a jar, coffeem j. jonah jameson and some even beat themselves.
so i resolved most of my fights with creative storytelling, if you have the feeling that a stronger or godlike character will ensure you a higher ranking in afl then go for it, i won't stop you.
and don't you think i know that? your judgement is influenced only by plague and hel, but both are characters that are taken out of their original stories and environments where they are very much balanced out by the other characters of those stories, but i can only pick one, not ten or twenty. (i'll upload a little epilogue for hel when i'm through all the comments, there you'll meet her boss, who is way out of her league)

I respect creativity, but not when it goes beyond the boundaries of logic at times. Your work tends to miss different details of characters both OCs and famous characters. You give traits to characters that won't fit them properly, like 's Eric. You made him look more confident and awe-inspiring, where he is more portrayed as unsure and self-conscious of his actions. Also, 's El Maldito is supposed to only speak Spanish, yet you clearly have him speaking English. Its not like the tech isn't available where you could switch English to Spanish (I found a site that could do that), but it just seems to be ignored for that matter. Then, there is J. Jonah Jameson. When the hell did he work at a network studio? Why did he confuse El Maldito for Spider-Man? How the hell does he know Sylar? I can understand trying to create humor, but not when it breaks down the walls of comic book reality. Its just...too weird.
That's the thing, its just your stories where they are most balanced. AFL is an entirely different story in of itself. Just because your character might be 'exotic' doesn't mean they would fit well with the other characters of AFL.

are you even reading what you are writing?
seriously, you should consider doing this before sending a message away, because if you did, you'd notice how ridiculous that just sounded.
just to sum it up for you: you just tried to tell me about comic book realism...in something like afl? dude, are you blind or something? with such a mixture of different characters, worlds and whatnot, how can you seriously speak of comic book realism?
here are some facts about afl:
1. it is NO comic book.
2. it is a contest where creativity wins.
3. there are NO rules that bind the contestants to any kind of realism in storytelling. besides no killing there are NO rules that bind the contestants to anything to win their fights at all.
so everything you think is important simply does not apply in afl. nobody cares if something is realistic. nobody cares if it's even logical. nobody cares because it was never a part of afl. well, nobody but you, because of whatever reasons you might have.
and just to make it clear: you might think that you found some inconsequence in my work (by me being realistic in some fights and in others not or whatever) you can complain about, but here's how it works: it's afl and i can do anything i want, when i want and how i want as long as i don't kill my opponent.
and look, it seems to have worked out pretty well for me so far, don't you think?
i mean being the winner of the whole gig and all...you know.
so before you start bitching around about so incredibly unimportant details next time, you should consider thinking about the given conditions of such an event and if your "critique" is actually critique and not jealousy or something else.
(and just for the record: no matter if you think you had good intentions or not, the way you write just sounds like you enjoy bitching around.)

if you want to have continuity and all that stuff comic books deliver, you should consider the possibility that afl might not be the right place for you.
neither is it one big story nor do its participants care about things like that.
they do it for fun and to proceed in their fights, not to please you with a continuous and perfect plot. that's not what afl was meant for.
instead of complaining about all that, you should accept the fact that afl is no comic book and never will be.
and i really don't care if you feel disappointed or underwhelmed by that because it's not like i'm your personal entertainer.
i delivered fun, action, cliffhangers and good art and it enjoyed the majority of the afl people.
and you have absolutely no right to demand anything just so you are personally satisfied.
if you want all that then go for it and put it in your own fights.
and here's a tip: if you are jealous, thats good. but only if you use that jealousy to get your ass up and practice to get better. the moment you start feeling only frustrated about someone eleses "talent" youve already lost.
you think i'm talented? no, i'm not. talent is an illusion. i'm just a stubborn bastard who wanted to learn how to do what i do now by all means. i worked hard and practiced for about 7 years now, so if you want to get better, stop crying and start working.

I think its a fine line between constructive criticism and comments that seem abit bitter and negative, and thats what came across.
If I was being constructive, I would compliment the artwork, the structure, the panels, the technique, the hard work, and say I would love to see what they could do with a character stripped of powers so that the artist could really challenge themselves in a storytelling aspect as well as character development.
There is no negative comment in what I made. Hel is very much like Zerkov I guess as they are both obscenely powerful characters and thats how they play out. But should people get criticized for it? No.
While I dont think you meant anything really harshly or personally, sometimes you have to watch what you type online, as tones and suggestions are harder to read between the lines.
