Well, I thought I'd do one of these because though I wouldn't include Scar's Guard in my comic I thought it would be fun to do. And it was. The only reference we really have for design is the Tree-Versions of them. So I modified colors and markings a little bit so they weren't all the exact same color and their markings weren't too unrealistic and yeah...From Left to right: The Keenest Of Sight, The Bravest, The Strongest, and the Fastest

Scar: BecauseΒ I wanted them to help me take down Mufasa so that I can become king of the Pride Lands instead of him.Β
Askari: I don't care what you wanted them to do the Roar is not meant to be used for evil.Β
Scar: Yes it is.Β
Askari: No it's not and for destroying your Guard you are no longer the leader of the Lion Guard.
Askari: It's too late Scar the damage is done you'll never be the leader of the Lion Guard again.Β
Scar: What that can't be noooooooooooo.

Then Scar roared at the guard and turned evil with his hyenas.......until he rule the Pride Lands in darkness.

This is amazing! I didn't see much of the show, but I did see the scene where Kion is being shown the tree-versions of them, I love how you styled them, it just looks so perfect!
Are you sure that you never worked for Disney, because it looks like you did, you're that good, keep it up, but don't rush on my behalf.

Yes Scar created them when he was Kion's age. But his guard lasted a few years at most. That is why they are older in the painting. It was when Mufasa was chosen as the kings successor that he began to get power hungry. I believe he lost his guard (aka killed them) and the roar about a few years or so before Simba was born.

None of them father Nala. A now deceased character of hers did, but he wasn't apart of any Guard.Β

See, for your headcanon, here's what I can see going down.Β Mufasa, being dead and all, seems to heave some level of heavenly connections with the previous kings.Β Given that (at most) three generations have senseless slaughter due to brother-hunger for power, he would have one of those rare moments with the heavens like when he went to encourage SImba to go be king.Β As a last minute resort to prevent the past from repeating itself, the other kings come to agree with him that the second eldest son would have power of his own, hence the Lion Guard without Scar.
After all, with Zira assuming to come later anyway, I don't think the Pride Lands can handle another "Scar".Β I'm not sure how you intend to swing Zira's story with the Lion Guard involved, but I sure do look forward to it if you ever go that far.

The Keenest of Sight:Β Mtazamo (Swahili for 'view', 'look', or 'sight')
The Bravest:Β Chuma (Swahili for 'iron', 'metal', or 'steel')
The Strongest:Β Askari (Swahili for 'soldier' or 'warrior')
The Fastest: Haraka (Swahili for 'haste')

I do like The Lion Guard, altho to have it make sense with timelines and all, Kion has to die somewhere before the first movie which is a sad thought. I love how you drew Scar's Guard tho!Β

I like to think he leaves the pride in a friendly manner once he's older 
Male lions do tend to leave their prides once they are old enough and this just sounds like Kion is heading on his own big adventure xD I get this image in my head of an adolescent Kion saying goodbye to his proud parents and heading out to face the world on his own. Not sure if this fits with Disney though.. Just my silly thoughts xD

Awesome! I love the expressions! You did an excellent job. I kinda wish we got to see more of scar's lion guard. I still don't understand how scar got away with killing his guard.... I mean, there must've been a long period of time between the killing of the guard and mufasa's death, someone had to have noticed the disappearance of four important lions

How did Mufasa not know about Scar murdering the current guard? Certainly what happened would've been seen by SOMEBODY! And if had known all this time, why didn't he banish Scar to the outlands long ago?
Your designs for the old guard are awesome; I honestly want to know more about what happened to the old guard in the show.
