That was always a sad part of the Batman Mythos, made especially sad for me with the movie Under the Red Hood.

Fantastic job capturing the sobering reality and subtle heartbreak Batman feels every time he passes that case.

This reminds me of the Batman comic "Hush" where the Riddler says: "What is the greatest defeat of Batman? The death of Robin"

I think it was mean by the story writers to let him die. he could have gone with his mother. then he was out of the story without dieing.
