Her eyes never falling from the ship in the distance, even thought they were filling wiith tears, pocahontas said " i never loved him, all i wanted was to stop people from fighting"
Powatan knew she was lying, but he also knew not to push the issue.
on the ship
John Smith lay, the pouch of bark clasped close to his heart, hoping that the pain of the shot wound would soon subside. he couldnt believe his luck. he meets a wonderful girl, falls in love, risks his life to save her father, and she wouldnt come to London with him, because she was needed by her people, well he needed her too!
he understood she had responsibility as the chief's daughter, but he also wanted her by his side forever. he vowed that when he was well he would return to the new land and he would marry her. closing his eyes, he took a deep breath. the men couldnt see that he was upset, it had taken him years to get the respect he had, and he wasnt going to lose it this easily.
In the village
pocahontas carried on her work, as if nothing was different, but she knew here was something wrong. She went to see Thomas, to talk to him about John Smith, so he could tell her stories about her, but it was no use. she knew then that she had to go to London to see hoim again. She spoke to Grandmother willow, and she agreed with Pocahontas. She left the following day...
