Usually that is the case with males.
Kuroma is a bit more used to people since her gijinka companion is a wanderer but she will not follow any stranger as well.

Sure, why not?
Stepping on the snowy white snow, Asura investigated the surroundings for any suspicious individuals with his sensitive hearing. He rarely came to Lumeria region, as he spent most of his time in Alave Forest with his partner. He never afraid of the cold thanks to his natural affinity to the cold, even though he had adapted his element from ice to fire one year ago.
He could barely remembered the snow, it's like a distant memory which he has blurry images of it, a memory he had before the death of his parents. He was here because his partner was having some business to deal with, and he somehow tagged along solely out of boredom.

Terracotta Golem! It is here to test you! Don't let it kill you Asura!
Kuroma used her rune circle and turned the snow into a flat icy ground. The Golem's balance slipped and it fell with a huge impact, shaking the earth. It's head had a bull's eye stamped on it.
Hit the target! Hit it once and it vanishes!
Kuroma shouted.
Meanwhile....
Towa launched himself at Shizu, testing his battle strength. He switched swiftly from punching attacks to kicks and hooking techniques. More than once Shizu got caught by his kicks but managed to block him.
Towa:Not bad Shizu....but let us up the ante.
Towa's mind crashed into Shizu's and started using projectile attacks like his physical self. He too had a hard time controlling his physical and mental self.it had required a lot of attention and focus so this is the principle he must teach Shizu...
because when Asura returne...he will be a whole lot different...

Asura kept dodging the golem's attacks while Kuroma cast the magic. He could barely escape from being hit by the massive claws which would cause serious injury if hit. He leap into the air to escape from the earthquake as the golem fall down onto the slippery ground. Using the gravity pull as booster, he aimed the mark on the golem's head, forepaws ahead.
Meanwhile...
Shizu dodged the launch of punches and kicks swiftly while blocked the unavoidable ones with his arms. Martial arts were his born gift after all. He focused as Towa launched his mental attacks toward him at the same time of his second attack.
He could sense projectiles shot out from the nekomata, and he blocked them with formed mental walls which he learned from Master. Though he managed to block the first few ones, but he started to get difficult in maintaining the defense both physically and mentally. He could actually felt the pain as his mind was hit by the projectiles.

The golem swiped Asura away like a fly before it got at his target. Kuroma ran at full speed and turned the part where Asura would fall into snow again. As predicted the male hound feel with a thud.
Get up! Get up! the golem is standing up!
Suddenly a ball of electricity hit Kuroma, she gasped the ball of electricity imprisoned her within its confines. It floated away from Asura taking her with it.
Asura!
Do NoT InTeRfErE......
The golem looked at her as she floated farther above the level of the ground.
ThiS iS HiS fIgHt...StaY OuT Of iT.
Kuroma clawed at the electricity but she was shocked within seconds, she watched as Asura got up and face the golem.
Kuroma:*she let out a howl*
Meanwhile....
Towa's arm snaked out and cleanly knocked Shizu's jaw, he heard a snick and grabbed his staggering opponent.
Towa: We will stop for now....you held up for ten minutes....an improvement these past week but not enough to defend you against a lot of foes.....
*he let go of Shizu and sat down and instructed the chimera to do the same.*
Towa: Meditate......clear your head. It will help before we begin sparring again *he closed his eyes and was silent*

Asura felt his rib cage cracked as the rocky tail of the golem hit on him. The momentum of the attack sent him crashed into the pile of snow which Kuroma prepared for the crash landing. His body twitched in pain, rendered him immobile for several seconds, which allowed him to see Kuroma being forcibly taken away from the battlefield by the golem.
...that's right, he was here to become stronger. He should have thought that the test would not be accomplished so easily. He stood up wobbly once he recovered from the stagger, blood dripped down from his jaw.
That's right, this is my fight....stay out of it!
As he slowly walked toward the golem, his rune circle glowed bright in crimson, as well as the aura of same color shrouded around the hound like fire.
Meanwhile...
Shizu panted heavily as he sat down along with Towa. He felt very tired mentally compared to physical strains. As he closed his eyes, he felt himself heavy, which he was unable to clear his mind. He frowned as he realized that he couldn't made his mind calm.
Shizu: ...why I feel so restless? I can't keep my mind calm....
Suddenly he clenched his head, his breath started to become irregular. The runic mark on his forehead glowed. He could felt the pain and the increase of magic flow within him. Something must be wrong with Asura....

Kuroma watched helpless to defy the guardian's will as it engaged Asura in a death match. She fear for him and most of all she fears what will happen if he does not pass the test.
Asura.....
Meanwhile....
Turbulent thoughts ran amok Shizu's thoughts so much that Towa could feel it acutely. he feared that Shizu's mind isn't that stable because his Hound was away; His mind was also plagued with worry but if there is one thing he and Kuroma both knew; Is to learn to trust each other's abilities.
He grabbed Shizu's hand and gently sooth his mind with his own.Hoping his runic mark will calm down
Don't think about him Shizu; Trust your partner....This journey is his destiny. Yours is here...with me. So calm down and meditate or Asura's hard work will be for nothing.

Asura's ears twitched. The magic power in the atmosphere was so thick that the red hound could freely channeling his runic spells without fearing of draining too much of his life energy. Ignoring the throbbing pain on his ribs, he sprinted around the golem with faster speed which enhanced by magic. He observed the golem carefully, attempted to find an opening for the attacking chance.
Meanwhile....
Shizu paused on Towa's words. Maybe he felt restless because Asura was not around, especially when he sensed danger around his canine companion. He never felt this way before, which made the chimera worry. But then again...the journey was a must in order for both of them to move forward. They had promised to each other that they will live together, no matter what kind of future they will face.
...I'm sorry, I should trust Asura's ability more...
As Shizu's mind started to become clearer, he felt the magic flow became calmer. The light on runic mark faded as well. He smiled at the worried nekomata, "...I'm fine now, let's continue the meditation..."

The Golem raised one paw and brought it down so fast, the earth split up causing shockwaves. The young hound was pushed up by the impact.
Kuroma tried to free herself but the guardian's magic was too strong.
Meanwhile....
Towa's ears twitched. He managed to calm Shizu down but something made his eyes turn glassy. When he was soothing Shizu's troubled mind. Someone exploded into his brain...
Memories of..a young green-haired male pegasus and he was talking to a faceless nekomata with long snow white hair and he was also wearing a hairpiece which looked a lot like his...but on his left side.
A chill crept inside his spine.....

Asura managed to dodge the paw, wbich in turn sent him into the air by the shockwave. He was very surprised that the golem was actually fast despite it looked like made of rocks, judging by the structure. Gritting his teeth, he increased his speed with magic, he landed on the stone arm of the golem. Using his claws for support, the hound ran up toward the golem's back, leaving flaming trail along his way, as he believed that fire may bring some effects to the golem.
Meanwhile...
Shizu noticed that Towa has lost in his own thoughts, he closed his eyes, feeling his mind overlapping with Towa's. He couldn't hide his shock as he saw the two figures.
The green haired one looked surprisingly familiar to the chimera, as if he knew him for long, but why? Aside from that, the other with pale hair looked somehow similar to a certain someone he knew...wait that ornament on his hair...is that the same one that Towa wore all the time?

he might just be able to defeat the guardian.

Towa's eyes turned back to normal,he looked at Shizu and his gaze narrowed.
Towa: do you know who that green haired pegasus was? That nekomata......who are you really Shizu?
Footsteps made the two young gijinkas turn towards the entrance. The Master was frowning....
Master:...................young chimera, this has bothered me eversince I weakened you from the first day of training. Is your father Calgren?

As the golem started to rampage around, the shaking was so great that Asura had to stop his advance and grabbed hold of his footing with his claws. His tactics worked, it seems. Mentally grinned, he waved his tails around, numerous fireballs formed within the trails. The fireballs later shot into different directions bombarded various parts of the golem. The golem roared on the impact.
Meanwhile....
Shizu stared at Master questioningly, not understanding his words. He shook his head a little, "...no, I don't even remember who my parents are."
However, his snake tail stared at Master with slight amuse before lowered itself to the ground. At the same time Shizu's eyes became glassy and his composure became unbalanced, but he regained it before fall down to the ground.

Master: So......you live inside the boy.....how ironic that you and I suffer similar fates Carlgen, my former partner....

Master: fate seems to have a funny way of bringing us together....my first partner was one of the Seekers but my second and last partner.....was Carlgen until he left the Sanctuary because he fell in love.

Carlgen: *stretch arms lazily* Ahh that place was a total hell to live! And how could Albior live in that place for that long? It's too cold!
He then slightly arched his back backward, using his arms as support while he looked at Towa with mild interest.

Kuroma went towards Asura who landed cleanly after the Golem vanished.
You did it....I can't believe it...
She checked for some injury and used her magic to at least align his broken ribs together but not to fully heal him as it would drain her.
The earth suddenly shook violently but Kuroma managed to keep her balance as two more golems dropped from the sky, yet they made no move to attack but they approached the gate and opened it using their paws as keys, the giant gate opened and the snowing stopped.
YoU hAvE...PaSsed. EnteR....
Kuroma smiled and licked Asura's cheek.
Come young one. Let us see the place where your ancestors lived.
Mists clouded their vision as they entered the huge gate. Kuroma walked ahead till she felt the sun shine in her face.
They were at a cliff but instead of a snowing wasteland scientist believed Myrvain to be. Lush green plants grew,Animals and birds seem abundant, flowers were in bloom as floating rocks made of crystals hovered above them, each rock has a mark of the runes....a huge lake was seen from the cliff and in its middle was a city of marble and crystals.
Kuroma:This is Myrvain's Heart.....and that place is called Sanctuary, a place where Arcane Hounds live as Gijinkas along with their Chosen ones.Come into the light and see our true form.
As the sun hit Kuroma's rune mark, she transformed into a young hound-like gijinka, but she is still covered with fur but her face was humanoid.
Meanwhile...
Towa's head hurts like hell....What in blazes just happened.
Towa: It cannot be true. You?..An Arcane Hound becomeing a gijinka...Impossible.
Master:....Look at Carlgen and tell me that again young whelp. The Gods in Voleros maybe immortal but even they don't know everything that happens in Voleros.Your father died givng me his form to teach you to survive...to atone for not being there for you and your mother.
Towa: *looked at Shizu who addressed him as the legendary Seeker's son* I don't even know what a kind of father I had...I never knew him.
And why are you in Shizu's body if you are dead!
Master:....I'm sure he has his reasons. But know this. Leole was an honorable nekomata; he died with the respect of my kind. *he looked at Shizu* Carlgen....It is good to see your tackless hide but this time you must let your son continue with his training without intereference from you whenever he's weakened...He's a young man no longer a child. If he ever faces Madara again...he must be ready.

Asura flinched and turned his head away as the sunlight shone past the mist. Once he got used with the bright, he noticed the difference in Kuroma's form: she looked much human like. He then raised his fore paws - which now have became arms, and realized that he was in humanoid form as well.
...how does this happened?
Before he could figure out the question, he realized the greenery scene from the cliff where the hounds stood. Yup he had faint memories of it, this is the Heart, the Arcane Hound's homeland. He had finally home.
Meanwhile....
Looking at the surprised nekomata's look, Carlgen couldn't help but snickered a bit in amusement.
Carlgen: *shrugs* It's true, kid. Arcane Hounds can become a gijinka in Myrvain, but that's it. A Hound can have a gijinka's form outside of Myrvain only if his partner give him one, but the cost is too great to do that.
The pegasus was a little surprised but felt grateful as Albior covered Towa's question. In fact he also didn't know why he was in his son's body in the first place. He then turned back his attention to Albior with serious look.
Carlgen: ...I know what you mean, Madara is not an easy enemy to deal with...I promise you that I will not interfere his training, but you need to promise me something in return.
Albior raised an eyebrow questioningly on the request, but didn't say anything.
Carlgen: *smile in gratitude* Never tell Shizu my real identity, because I don't want him to worry about me and focus on his training...*noticed Towa's confused look, he waved a hand* Don't worry, I've knocked him out before taking over his body *chuckles as the nekomata sweatdrops* He will wake up shortly! Oh and one thing, now that I've remembered my name, you can call me by Carlgen when Shizu was not around.

Kuroma's Tails swished behind her as she raised a hand, the floating rocks formed stairs where she stepped on each to walk down the cliff.

Kuroma: You don't look that bad in gijinka form Asura, You'll find a bride when the right time comes...

Carlgen: ...don't think of that way, Towa. Imagine what would become and who would you be if Albior never take care of you. Kuroma and Asura arrived at Lumina Forest trail, the floating ricks levitated skywards when she raise her hand again then began walking towards the forest, which was inhabited by small fae like insects. the lush and beautiful forest and vibrant vegetation is very calming.
Asura, you are not allowed to share any intimate details of the Heart of Myrvain to Shizu. Towa understands why I had to keep it a secret since he was never a meddlesome gijinka.
The Heart of Myrvain was once a thriving place in ancient Voleros. Our kind were originally gijinkas which had very advanced magic and technology. Times were prosperous and our kind were thriving until....we thought we were omnipotent like the Gods.
Because our power poses great potential and greater danger... the Gods of the Old cursed and sealed Myrvain's Heart away and eversince then we were disconnected from Voleros.Whenever we go out into Voleros in the past...we become what the Volerians called as.."Arcane Hounds" but recently.. due to poachers and hunters hunting us for our furs and magical properties...many Arcane Hounds remain within the Heart.
Several Gijinkas like nekomata and chimeras lived among us here but they do not know a lot about the outside world and would not dare go outside of the Heart. Nekomatas like Towa's father....was born in the Sanctuary. The city of the Ancients....
Meanwhile...
Towa took Carlgen's words and thought about it But when Shizu's body jerked and closed his eyes. When the next time Shizu's eyes opened, she seemed a little disoriented.
Towa: You dozed off a little. But I supposed that is necessary for your mind to calm down. *he held out a hand to the chimera* Shall we try dueling physically and mentally again?

Asura looked around the surroundings as Kuroma explained the history of Myrvain. So their ancestors did something that gravely that they were punished for their treachery. But that was all in the history. What he dislike the fact that they were bonded into this land for their ancestors' fault, which sounded unfair to the younger generations.
...I might be wrong, but it just sounded wrong to be confined in this place, both to our own kind and other gijinkas. I was glad that I went out into the outside world to see different places in Voleros...I can't imagine myself to live in this place for all my life, maybe because I never grew up in this place...
He raised his head as a glowing bug flew above him. Except the flow of magic in the air, the place was so much like the depths of Alave Forest, where there were glowing butterflies fluttering in the dark forest.
...forget what I said earlier, that just my own point of view to this place...
Meanwhile...
Shizu was totally clueless on how he fall asleep in the first place. He only remembered that his head almost cracked due to the sheer amount of magic flowed into him, and Towa helped him...then he couldn't remembered anything later, which made the chimera confused. Maybe he really dozed off like Towa said.

Kuroma laughed.
Ironically I feel the same.
I also share your opinion on our kind's situation but the Elders have great influence and power here. They alone will decide what is best for us and our Chosens, which were gijinkas that were born and raised here.
Our race has been disconnected for thousands of years, the Gods Volerians knew now are still a thousand years old...or more yet in my opinion they are young and knew nothing about us.
The Elders are content with staying here. For you see...unlike in Voleros. Magic is alive here, floating rune rocks...the air heavily misted with magic and the creatures here are different, but someone like you and me whose lives were spent in Voleros. We are considered "outsiders" and therefore we are the eyes and ears of the Heart about the ever changing world of Voleros. The Elders will be excited to see another one like me.
The forest exit was visible as they walked. When they reached the end, a huge lake surrounded by glowing rocks and floating land with waterfalls with waters that flows down towards the lake. Several gijikas riding what Kuroma knew were levitation boards kept guards allover the lake and protected the Sanctuary.
A chimera Chosen laded down in front of them, he was dark skinned with blue hair.
Guard:...Kuroma * he smiled* What news do you bring us from the Outside world?
Kuroma:*nodded* Gar, I have come to present another outsider to the Council, he must be seen and ....
the last few words were blocked from Asura's mind, Gar looked at the young Arcane Hound and nodded.
Soon Kuroma led him to the lake where flat rocks rose from the waters and formed a bridge for them to cross.
Let us go....
Meanwhile.....
Something changed...
Towa pulled away as Shizu matched his pace as they traded blows, the chimera's movements were better and his mind more focused. Little by little, he was catching his blows both physical and mental better.

Asura followed Kuroma in advancing into the silvery building not far from them. He didn't understand why Kuroma blocked part of the conversation with the guard away from him, but he knew that he wouldn't get any answers out from her if he did asked. Instead, he observed the guards patrolled around the sanctuary. They looked somehow different from the gijinkas in Voleros, but he couldn't pinpoint the difference. He turned back his attention in the way towards the sanctuary.
...so what will happen next?
Meanwhile...
Shizu started to be able to detect the movement in Towa's attack in both physical and mental. He slowly blocked the attacks with his arms and mental barriers set up in perfect timing. As time moves by he could able to parry most of the attacks easily, and even found several chances for counter attacks.
As Towa stroked a punch towards the chimera's face, Shizu dodged the punch while slipped his punch into the gap behind and gave the nekomata an uppercut. He drew himself away from the staggered opponent to get himself a break from the extreme exercise.

Kuroma led Asura through a gate made of solid crystal embedded with blinking rocks.
The city inside the wall was something out of a dream, even the beauty of the Four region's capital cities could not compare to what Asura saw.Towers and spires of Petrified trees the color of ashe white lined the huge wall, shops and other buildings close to the ground shaded by fragrant flower trees and mini fountains line the city with small gijinka made waterways that was made visible by placing glass to cover it.The very back of the city was a huge tree fashioned into a palace in what manner he knows nothing of.
Kuroma:Welcome to the city...the Sanctuary.*she waved at little Arcane pup children scampering after each other. Dark skinned gijinkas of varying races scattered all over the place, most of them have pale hair and eyes and strange markings on their faces not present in the Volerian Gijinkas.
You noticed huh....The gijinkas that were also trapped along with our kind were not spared from the curse. They are dark skinned because they also have magic in their veins but it is only a small percentage compared to us but greater than Volerians nonetheless. The darkest color they can inherit is either a blue or green hair but their eyes are always pale. They work with our kind and are called the Chosens, they either work as Seekers,Workers or Mages.....
Kuroma led Asura to a tunnel going to the huge palace.
Meanwhile....
Towa managed to block the upper cut but was pushed back, he smiled. The chimera's sense are getting focused and sharper. This is just the beginning.
Towa:*flicked his hand forward as a surge of energy appeared on his hand, soon a small blue projectile shot pass Shizu and then disappeared.*....Not bad but you still have a lot of rice to eat Shizu....I'll sharpen that metal and physical being of yours till you can fight well even when you are tired.
He smiled.
Towa: Let us rest for this day, tomorrow. we will begin a new training.

Asura listened the explanation silently. So that's why the gijinkas here were different with the ones in Voleros. The aura they possess are much stronger, even their physical appearance were different as well, just like...Kuroma's partner Towa...
Suddenly a thought came into his mind: why Towa looks so similar to the people here? Something was wrong...however, he thought that would be much appropriate to ask her afterwards.
As he sort his mind out of his thought, he noticed a small numbers of Arcane pups, including several gijinka children, stared at him from some distance away from him. He ignored their curious gaze. Obviously he knew that his coloration was indeed a unique one comparing to normal Hound, though he doesn't like to be taken attention from anyone, but what could he do?
Meanwhile...
A sweat ran across his forehead as the blue projectile shot past him, the impact merely scratched his face. It was too early for the chimera to prove himself yet. However, he somehow felt excitement on the training onward.
Come to think of it, he felt his mind much clearer than his first attempt in the morning, like a burden was off from his shoulders, which he didn't know the reason why. At the same time, he felt that he was away with someone important, but who was it? He couldn't remembered. He smiled as he followed Towa for the rest.
Carlgen, who rested in the back of the chimera's mind, smiled apologetically.
Sorry son, I've temporarily sealed away your memories with Asura, so you can concentrate on your training on hand. Everything would be revealed when the time is right...

Kuroma stopped at the gate, she hesitated...it had been a year ago that she was back to report to the Council. She was tired of keeping her partner a secret but Albior said that it was necessary that no one knows that Leole's son is alive; she hopes that the Council won't bother her about who her partner is.
We are near, prepare yourself.
Just then she turned around when a shadow appeared behind Asura, his arms and claws bared and brought it down towards the young Arcane Hound.
Asura!
Meanwhile.....
It was Dinner time. Everyone ate quietly. Towa did not even greet his Master but went ahead and sat near the fireplace and ate. After eating, Towa bid Shizu a good sleep and began to wash the dishes.
When he went back to the living room.Master was standing in the middle and was staring at him.
"What do you want to know first?" was his only question.
Towa clenched his fingers, he wasn't angry but he still felt the sting of betrayal from his foster father.
"Who is my mother? Is she even alive? or is she..."
"She is alive, but she is married to another now. You may know her. Her name is Elene of the Marlene Family."
Towa stiffened, he remembered taking a mission in Lumeria when he was just 25 years old, he was to escort a noble male who was supposed to marry into the Marlene family. Yet when he turned to leave after the job was done he was stopped by an elder female who was a unicorn. Her eyes were blue like his but it was her pale face that was stamped into his memory. They did not talk because before the lady could speak she was ushered away by his niece who looked at him with contempt muttering "low life hunters".He left but her face stayed with him for a while before he banished it away.
"....My mother was a unicorn..."he said in disbelief.
Master nodded.
"since you take after your father so much you won't notice but your hair and eyes....are like hers, when you told that story to me a long time ago, I wondered if fate really is cruel.
The Marlene family is an old line of nobles serving the Lumerian Court, they are also well known for their ability to produce excellent mages and warriors."
Towa looked agonized, His mother...was just an inch from him and he did not even get to embrace her.
"I have heard enough I will sleep now."
Master's hand on his back made him flinch but he did not turn to look at him.
"I am sorry Towa......" was what he said then he too, went to his room to sleep.
Towa felt guilty but he was also hurt,There is nothing he can do now....but face forward and never look back as he went to his sleeping cot and soon fell asleep.

A surge of chill crept up on Asura's spine as the shadow approached behind him. He sidestepped aside to avoid the clashing claws which aimed on the location where his head was, and swiped out his own toward the attacker. He immediately moved himself away from the attacker without noticing his attack hit the mark or now, gritting teeth threateningly.
Who are you?!
Meanwhile...
As the two focused on their conversation, a shadow was behind the wooden doors. Leaning against the wooden pillar, the chimera - who was now Carlgen - listened quietly on the conversation.
"...so Towa's mother is still alive, huh..." he muttered to himself as he stared at the moon, "...I wonder how is Alia now..."
As he recalled his memories with his lover, he took out a paper crane from his pocket and gently blew on it. The crane flapped its wings and took off into the sky. Seeing the crane disappeared from the sky, Carlgen stood up from the pillar and walked back to the room. He should take some rest too.

Kuroma was glad Asura evaded the blow and growled at the attacker, whowas another Male Arcane Hound but obviously older because his built and height is much bigger than Asura.
Garun! Stop this foolishness!
Garun looked at Kuroma and suddenly he ignored Asura's shouts and hugged her.
Why are you with another male and someone who reeks of the outside.
Kuroma stubbornly pushed him away.
I AM an OUTSIDER as well Garun, and stop acting like I am your mate already for I have no plans to choose one yet.Let us pass for Asura must be shown to the Elders
Garun snorted and looked at Asura, his fur bristled.
Let us hope he passes their judgement because I won't have such a weak Hound for a rival. Kuroma... you will turn 10 years soon and when that time comes... I will have you.
The cocky Arcane Hound then left in a huff. his tails swishing as he walked away.
Kuroma looked at Asura.her face was flushed and her tails were twitching....
Gar and I grew up together, he was always this overbearing so I apologize in his place.Let us go inside now.
She led him inside where a barren chamber awaits them, the only object visible was a large floating rock and several small pillars with blue flames that are lit.She walked towards the floating rock and help Asura up and raised her arm, which caused the rock to float up....
Meanwhile....
Towa woke up in the morning and felt his head ache momentarily. Dreams of his mother haunted him as he washed his face and dressed up before making breakfast.
He was setting the table when he saw Shizu come out.
Towa: Let's eat fast Shizu. Today's test is endurance so you must eat a lot because this will be a harder exercise.

Weak? How could this guy said he was WEAK? Asura growled angrily at the other male Hound as he talked intimately with Kuroma. He hated this guy, and swear he would beat that cocky guy someday.
As Garun left the area with a huff, Asura turned to see a flushed Kuroma who apologized to him. He just shook his head, he knew it wasn't Kuroma's fault for this.
He followed Kuroma towards the large floating rock which he assumed to be where the Council was. To tell frankly, he was somewhat felt nervous on what will happen later.
...so what is this judgment thing about?
Meanwhile...
Shizu nodded on Towa's words while sat on his seat in having his breakfast. He peeked on the nekomata, he seemed kinda lost himself, like he brooding over something.
Shizu: *stops eating* ...what's wrong? You don't look so well...

Kuroma look skyward.
The Elders will judge whether you are worthy of being accepted back into the Heart of Myrvain. Once they do your hidden potential can be awakened. You see..... the reason why your Soul Fusion with Shizu is very unstable is because your potential hasn't awoken yet. Once it does....then doing Soul Fusion with Shizu won;t be so hard anymore.
I beg you to hold on to the end Asura, being judged isn't pretty but endure it and in turn you can unlock powers you never had.
the floating rock stopped so Kuroma urged him to get off as she walked towards an exit where a a huge circular platform with a huge circle is located. The place was located outside where you can see everything from up there.three tall pillars with long banners of silk hung at the very top. three shadows appeared to greet them, Arcane Hounds so Ancient that they wore robes and had canes to support them.
Elders...I have brought the lost Arcane Hound I have been telling you about. His name is Asura.
Meanwhile....
Towa smiled forcefully as he set his finished bowl down.
Towa: I had nightmares but This won't interfere with the training. Come.
He led Shizu out of the cottage pass the cave where they trained for a week and into a place where a small waterfall and a small lake was located.
Towa: Our lesson of endurance begins now. So first order of business...* he began taking his clothes off* Strip.

Asura nodded at Kuroma, he would remember her words. Whatever what kind of judgment would be given to him, he would endure it, that is why he was here in the beginning.
As he stood in the center of the circle, awaiting for Kuroma's introduction to the elders. He peeked on the elders but unable to identify their looks as the distance was too far to take a close look on. After Kuroma finished her speech, he half-kneeled, head bow down.
It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Asura and I have returned to our homeland...
Meanwhile...
Shizu was quite puzzled on the training later when he followed Towa past the cave and reached the waterfall. As Towa instructed him to take off his clothes, he hesitated a bit before removing them until he has his boxers on. He tried not to blush as he look at Towa who was half-naked as well.

Kuroma was glad that Asura had manners as he bowed to the Elders who walked towards them, For years...she has seen them garbed in robes and carrying a cane to help them walk but she also knew that their magic is stronger than anyone else. These Elders are the wise men who has been ruling the Sanctuary of as long as she can imagine.
The first Elder spoke, he wore the black robes.
The lost one has returned....His element has changed too.
The red robed Elder smiled like a grandfather.
Hmmmm.....He looks healthy enough. This is the first time I have seen one with Fire Element.
The white robed Elder frowned.
Lost or not...he must be judged whether he can be trusted to become part of the Clan once again. I will show no mercy to him...Kuroma, you did a good job so you...will be the one to test him.
Kuroma's stance never changed, she bowed her head.
...Yes Elders.
The red robed Elder turned to Asura.
This is your test young Outsider. he pointed to Kuroma. You will fight Kuroma...and kill her.
Meanwhile...
Towa's eyes narrowed when Shizu hesitated.
Towa: Don't tell me you are shy of stripping? We are both males after all.*he took off his pants and was left with his boxers on, the cold breeze was nothing new to him as his bare feet felt the snowy ground.*
He surveyed the Lake for a moment. When he turned he saw SHizu had stripped and was also in his boxers.
Towa:...Good.....First is meditation. We sit by those huge Rocks and meditate while the waterfall waters hits us. Master made me do this when I was 12 and I got sick for a week...eventually I developed some endurance for the cold.
He then climbed up and jumped, scaling the rocks easily, when he got on top he picked the farthest rock and sat down, the roar of the waterfalls made his ears lower down and he curled his tails in front of him as he sat and tucked his Legs while he closed his eyes and shouted.
Towa: We will stay like this for an hour then we will proceed with your speed.

Asura flinched at the order. Kill her? That's absurd! He stood up from where he kneel and stepped backward a few.
...you gotta be kidding me! He swing his right arm in a horizontal arc, fangs bearing, Are you going to ask me to kill her, even after all she did for helping me?
Meanwhile...
Shizu mentally slapped himself for acting stupid. He shivered a bit when the cold wind blew across his skin as he followed Towa towards the rocks near the waterfall. His ears lowered down to block away the deafening waterfall roars when he climbed up the slippery rocks with the help of the claws on his hands and legs.
He observed the way Towa meditated and followed suit. Sat on the rock where the current was weaker, he curled his tail (which looked unconscious) in between his crossed legs and closed his eyes.
The beating of waterfall strike the chimera's body hard, he felt his body in pain on the harsh beating, especially his horns as if they would broke on the sheer pressure. He endured the pressure as hard as possible.
One hour later...
Shizu felt himself lost all the strength from resisting the waterfall's pressure, which in turn completely washed down from the rock he sat into the lake with a splash. Bubbles surfaced from the spot where he fall.

The Elders looked at Kuroma, who looked a bit flustered.
Young Asura....when I meant kill her...you never let me finish my sentence said the Red robed Elder.I want you to kill her curse. For you see...We have placed a spell that will end her life within three hours; Can you save her within such a short time? This will prove that you can still become one of us and is not tainted by the outside. What shape it is...only you can determine that...make one mistake and kill her heart...she will die. This will be your test..Save your friend before time ends.
Aahhhh... A black mark suddenly appeared on her chest, the black mark over shadowed her till it swallowed her and morphed into a shadow beast.A-A...su..ra...
The Elders stepped back.
How will you save her now Young Outsider.... they thought as the beat advanced upon him and growled in shrill tones.
Meanwhile...
Towa swam back to edge of the lake and pulled out Shizu and sighed,He saw the chimera fainted and dove after him before his body reached the bottom.
Maybe I over did it...next time I'll make it 30 minutes.
When he shook him and got no response,he quickly grabbed Shizu's cloak and wrapped it around him.
Towa:.....*he bend down and leaned over his chest to hear his heartbeat.he After that he tipped the chimera's chin and leaned over preparing to touch his mouth to his for CPR*

GROOOOARRRRRR!!!
Asura was in a lost. He kept avoiding the shadow beast's attacks. He couldn't attack it, he just couldn't. He knew that Kuroma was under the curse and it was not her intention to kill him. He even heard her cry despite the being attacked him as if he was the enemy, which refrained him from counter attack.
What should I do...Kuroma...
'Let it all out. Anger, sadness, envy, jealousy....these feelings hinders your concentration.'
That's right, he remembered Kuroma's teaching. He couldn't let those feelings interrupt his concentration. All he need to do was to kill the curse within her, and what he could do is to get into her mind and do it, which he has the ability to do it! Gritting his teeth, he leap into the air and landed at the back of the beast while subdued it on the neck. The beast's twin tails bashed the male Hound's back wildly but he ignored the pain.
...snap out of it! You can't let some stupid curse to take your life away that easily! What a pathetic excuse for a mentor!!
Growled, he forcefully linked his mind with the beast's. His eyes, which were squinted all the time, opened for the first time, the golden eyes full with determination...
....
He could see nothing, a total darkness around. Though Asura had been entered into Kuroma's mind several times, but that was his first time seeing this, as what he remembered was that there was mist all over in Kuroma's realm of mind.
Kuroma! Where are you?
Meanwhile...
Shizu couldn't remembered anything. His head was pain like hell as if there was someone pounding in his head with a sledgehammer. He could feel water flowing around him and his body was slowly sinking down. He could see the light from above, but he was completely drained and he couldn't even move.
A shadow loamed over the light. His half-opened eyes moved a little.
Who...is there?
Before he could identify the person, he lost his consciousness into the darkness...
...
A surge of air being forced into his lungs, jerking the chimera out from unconsciousness. His body jerked as well as he coughed water out from his lungs, allowing air to enter.
As he finally coughed all the water out from his lungs, he weakly looked at Towa who kneel beside him with worried look. Shizu tried to thank him but couldn't except the coughing and panting came out from his mouth.

Darkness....
Silence.....
Cold...so cold...
Kuroma knew that she may not live long enough because of the darkness cloying at her soul. When she was a pup...her mother took her to see the outside world because she has been very curious, but her curiosity caused the death of her mother and her to run and escape...if not for Albior and the young Towa who killed the monster before it could devour her has caused a heavy burden in her that she carried for a long time.
Memories she longed to forget...
Kuroma then felt someone call out her name. Asura's voice rang out into the abyss and she remembered Towa, her partner..how sad he would be if she'd surrender now..
>>nngh...Augh...
Let me live....
Towa...I still can't leave him..
Let..me go!!!
Outside. a the beast's form began to become unstable as the beast roared and tried to buck Asura off, the unstable condition caused the form to show a jewel like sphere which was controlling the shadow beast.
Meanwhile...
Towa slapped the chimera's back to help him spit out the remaining water off his system.
Towa: welcome back. *he handed him some tea which he boiled at home and kept it inside a thermostat covered in wool.* Let us try something less dangerous... after you drink that all... we will swim around the lake...if you can swim around ten times including breaks then we can call it a day.

...it's no use, I can't find her...
Asura roamed in the darkness, unable to locate Kuroma's whereabouts. As time goes on, he found himself losing concentration in maintaining the mind link.
It's pointless to search from here...
A sharp pain snapped the red hound out from his trance, severing the mind link as well. He panted heavily while tried his best not to be bucked off by the beast he rode on. Blood trailed down from his wounded back - the results of being repeatedly beaten by the spiky tails - as well as the dark matters on his limbs as the beast's body has started to decompose itself.
Thinking on what to do next, he noticed a light shone from the middle of the shadow beast. He squinted his eye to see a spherical jewel which somehow looked out-of-place for a beast.
...is this the thing?!
He raised his hand towards the jewel while maintaining his form with another hand. As he grabbed on the jewel, a blinding light shone from the jewel itself....
Meanwhile...
Shizu almost thought that he was a goner earlier. He felt much better as he spit out all the water out from himself, and drank a big gulp of tea from the thermostat Towa passed to him.
"...thanks..." he smiled, his voice sore from the cough, "...I think I should be okay after some rest..."

Kuroma gasped as the cloying darkness curled away from her.She saw a speck of light and swam towards it.
Asura!
Meanwhile, The beat howl as if it was being ripped apart, the beast's shadow form bubbled and suddenly it exploded, knocking off the Red Arcane Hound. the black remnants of the beast burned as it touched the ground.
The elders remained quiet when they saw Kuroma's form which fell on the ground after the beast exploded.
Seems like the Outsider did it.the Blue robed elder smiled at his two friends.
Yes...but this is only the beginning for those two...
Meanwhile....
As another week passed for the two gijinkas, Towa steadily took over Albior's training and coached Shizu as they passed their days on the waterfalls area. Slowly but surely the chimera's body became resistant to the water's cold though he still tends to faint when pushed to his limits...
on their 7th day...
Towa: You have endured the last seven days but this time we will take stamina and endurance and see how long you will last...underwater.
*he tied several small rocks around the chimera's wrist and tied rocks the size of his foot to the chimera's ankles, thighs and elbows.Towa then tied heavier looking rocks on himself"*
Towa: Dive! *he shouted as he swam towards the bottom of the lake which isn't that far off, if his student could see clearly he can see..wooden dolls with lumps of smooth rocks embedded on them, spiky poles with a huge marble stone attached to its ropes.
Welcome to your new training ground...the underwater training ground.

Asura tumbled backward upon the impact before landed flat on his stomach. He tried to stand up and walked close to Kuroma who laid unconscious not far from where he were, but he fall back to the ground after several steps. The throbbing pain on his back blurred his vision and he can barely keep his mind clear as he overused his mental power earlier.
...K...Kuroma...
He raised one of his hand towards the other hound before lost conscious into the darkness.
Meanwhile...
Shizu felt himself sank quickly down the water thanks to the rocks on his body and limbs, but he was a little worried that the weight would be a problem later. However, since Towa knew what he was doing, that should be no problem. He stared at the decoration with awe when he dove deeper, his wings folded closer to him. But what he didn't understand that what does the training underwater would help to him.

Towa grabbed a floating rope which was tied to a huge boulder beside the poles with stone lumps and tied it to his waist, soon his feet hit the ground and he demonstrated to the chimera a punching technique while avoiding the rotating stone poles which rates whenever it gets hit.
If you noticed that this lake is magical. most gijinkas who aren't hippocampus cannot dive into the bottom with their ear's bursting form the intense pressure but i=this lake seems to inflict no pressure on our ears if we used ear plugs.
he dodged the poles while in the middle of the punches..
If you can hit these things properly under water,a place with more pressure and where your body is heavier and your movements more sluggish. What will that accomplish? Think on it.
Towa said through their link as he pointed at the adjacent pole, urging him to try it.
In the Heart of Myrvain...
"...He's coming around..."someone said.Kuroma opened her eyes and felt her body wince at the pain.
"I'll kill that wretched Hound! My Kuroma..almost killed with his recklessness.."Garun's outraged voice made her groan.
Garun appeared in her vision.
"You should lie down...you aren't well yet!"
"H-How is he?"
"....he..isn't dead."from the looks of Garun's face, the older Arcane Hound wished he was.
"Garun! Stop coddling me! We will never be more than friends!.."
Garun was about to opened his mouth when a voice made Kuroma blinked as she was imagining things.
A young white bengal nekomata was using the magic in a shape of a arcane circle to pass through the prone Asura and it healed his wounds. But what made her look at the nekomata was how much he looked like Towa...except his hair was white with a tint of blue.
"Kuroma right? The outsider is fine. I just finished healing him.."he smiled. He smiles like Towa but he was about 10 years younger than him.
"...W-Who..."
"Ah..forgive me. I am Kaiser, my uncle was the Leole..my mother recently passed away but I carry her job as a trainee for the position of Seeker.

Shizu moved his arms, thinking about the question Towa gave. What will happen if he could hit those moving poles underwater? He punched one the pole that Towa pointed at, but it moved away before his attack aims.
He stared the pole in disbelief. Like what have mentioned earlier, his moves have became sluggish underwater due to pressure, and he felt himself heavier. To hit on the poles, more speed and strength are needed, but what would it accomplish? He still need to figure it out.
Meanwhile...
Asura felt the pain on his body slowly faded away as a surge of energy flowed across the wounds, mending them in the process. He groaned before he twitched his body. His blurry vision saw the male hound who attacked him earlier - what was his name? Garun or something - cuddles on Kuroma like his obsession.
...how...HOW COULD HE!!
The anger caused the red hound stumbled up from his lying position, but the strain in the newly healed wounds flinched him and he kneeled on the floor panting.
"...ah AHHHH...." he bared his fangs toward Garun threateningly, ignoring the person next to him.

Towa watched Shizu miss another pole which only rotated when he tried to punch it. 30 seconds is up. He untied the ropes on his waist and swam and untied the chimera.
Time is up! go back!
A normal gijinka can hold his breath no more than 45 second til 5 minutes but when exerting force while IN the water; 30 seconds can make one tired. As he swam back up the surface; his thoughts dwelled on Kuroma for the first time... she was never gone this long...he prays she is alright.
Meanwhile...
Kuroma started to move forward to help but Garun held her back.
"You are wounded..."he said."Let the Chosen help him.."
Kaiser raised his hand. two large rune circles appeared under the young ARcane Hound and levitated him back to the bed.
"It is alright boy.."he touched Asura's head."You and Kuroma are in the Healing Chamber.....I was assigned to look after you."

Shizu gritted his teeth as he missed the aim on the pole again. He felt himself heavy and unable to exert his full strength underwater. He flinched and more bubbles flowed out from his mouth when Towa untied the ropes.
W-what the...?!
The lack of air made his head dizzy, his vision became blurry. He frantically waved his hands attempting to swim up towards the surface but ended up sinking. Luckily Towa grabbed his hand and both of them managed to get out from the water. Shizu panted heavily.
...that was close...
Meanwhile...
Asura glared at the other male hound before he was levitated back to the bed. He turned his attention towards the one responsible for it, but his action paused at the nekomata's face as if he seen a ghost.
H-how in the world...
Before he got his question answered, a hand placed on his head which snapped him out from his thought. He became relaxed and a surge of sleepiness tickled his mind. He slowly closed his eyes.

Towa pulled the sodden chimera back to the surface and climbed up the edge of the lake. He breathed deeply and smiled.
"We will have to work on your movements...in Water your movements must be precise..so that you can hit the poles just right..." he said."If you had not realized by now....one factor of why we are training under water is for efficiency...water pressure slows your usual fast punches down so we are aiming for your punches t connect with the pole...imagine..the sheer speed of your punches when used on land after a few weeks of underwater training?" he chuckled.."Let us go home for supper..Master will have my hide if he is forced to make dinner for us again."
Meanwhile....
A few days has passed after Kuroma's and Asura's recovery. They currently reside in Kaiser's cottage which was located at the Palace's Park. The young nekomata seems glad he had guest and treated the two Outsiders like old friends.
"......."Kuroma was out on the porch looking at the Place spires, wondering why the Elders have not called them yet. Kaiser only said that they should wait because the Elders are having a meeting about Asura's fate.
