Just search for groups on DA, join a bunch and post your artwork. xD easy as pie!
What also helps a lot is requesting art from others, faving/llama spamming others. I sometimes look at DA pages with people not even 18 yet, with art of way less quality than ours who have over 100 thousand pageviews and over 500 watchers within 2 or 3 years.. (*cries*) xD But I realized they request a lot of artwork from others and are very engaged in the community.. (commenting/faving/asking for help to get better/forum/llamas/etc) and that pays off. ;u;
You once told me I was better because I have more pageviews, but pageviews only display how engaged you are. Not how good you are. So don't fret too much about that stuff. Of course, being more engaged grants you more visibility, more oppurtunities, You'll get noticed more, people will comment/fav more, more watchers and better critique to get better. 'Popularity' is a means to get more noticed and if you want to earn money for your work or even a job somewhere, getting noticed is important...Β
Anywayz, Your art is gorgeous, let's not fool ourselves. 
If you're having trouble with the group aspect, then I can link you a bunch of groups I think would work out for you and you can see yourself whether you'll join them or not.
Also, when you join a lot of groups you'll get the group's messages.. when they are holding contests you should enter to gain more visibility and win stuff (like art of your characters which grants you even more visibility) You'll get spammed with deviations and journals.. I find this often annoying as your messages get stacked full with hundreds of deviations and other stuff, so I only keep the deviations/journals of groups I like most in order to control my messages a bit... xD
