I agree, but I also believe that the guy has to have the ability to encourage and uplift Hinata's own heart. Hinata has been put down her whole life by cold individuals. She needs someone to free her from the weight of expectations placed on her and make her believe in herself.
Shikamaru, I believe, is perceptive enough at times to do that. He is a good guy. Hinata deserves someone who will treat her well.
