Description
A modern day rendition of Garmine and her younger sister Larina, going shopping together. As Garmine has somehow gotten even fatter than usual, she ended up getting a mobility scooter. It's been more useful than she'd like to admit.Kind of a sketchy colouring thing, could have spent a lot more time on this. Background especially, but then again, hell no am I going to colour a million boxes of cereal.

How did her sister manage to remain so thin, growing up in the same family on the same type of foods?
Was she more lucky with the genetic lottery so her metabolism is a little faster? Or she just has more self-control? Or both?
I'm wondering whether, unlike her fantasy counterpart who only started gaining weight when she got her position in the royal palace, modern GarminΓ© was always fat, even as a teenager. When did she gain most of her weight? Gradually, at an almost constant rate, until now? Or did it plateau a longer time ago, and she struggles to not get fatter ever since? What was her weight a year or two ago, if she's around 300 kg now?

GarminΓ©'s sister is lucky for a variety of reasons. Better metabolism is definitely a part of it, she got that from her father. But it's mostly self control and never having to rely on comfort food to feel good.
GarminΓ© gained weight in bursts, typically happening around changes in her life. Weight gain was more or less gradual during grade school. But graduating that meant a new class, new people, no friends came with her, and she was immediately the fattest girl in class, ripe for bullying. During that period she went from Pretty dang obese, to morbidly obese, and at some point even got exempt from P.E. thanks to her increasing size. By the end of high school, she was at about Fantasy's size, and during college she gained the freshman 150. (Admittedly not just during freshman year, but bear with me).
But the worst burst has already happened some six to five years ago (She's taking a long time with her studies), so two years ago she was probably 280-ish kilos.

Those slow 5 to 10 kilos per year have the danger of being very sneaky, but they have the advantage of allowing to procrastinate for another few years about big life-altering decisions (like dieting, exercise, surgery, big lifestyle changes) before further limitations in life quality would kick in.Β

She also doesn't own a scale, so she isn't even sure if she's gaining weight!

Another reason to procrastinate any lifestyle decisions and continue with her actual eating habits, it seems.

This is probably one of the most realistic yet appealing portrayals of a BBW I've seen yet. There's something very nice about it.

She doesn't. She lives in a small student apartment so rolling out of bed already lands her in her desk chair, which does roll around so she does generally sit in that as she goes to the fridge... She only needs help like that for situations where she can't sit down after say, five minutes.

I've been meaning to draw someone on a scooter for a while now. Didn't mean to do it with Garmine, but she has a way to worm her way into any plans I have.
Modern day Garmine herself has otherwise been on my mind a lot though.

I've considered it, I've brainstormed a lot about what modern Garmine's life would be like, but... I'd feel kinda bad, that if I'd start elaborating on that, she'd get more story focus than the original Garmine.
So I'm kinda thinking I should at least start elaborating more indepth on fantasy Garmine first, I've been planning a couple of comic pages about her, but I'm lazy and they won't even contain that much fat at first...

Maybe it could become like an alternate retelling that goes side by side with what's happening with the original Garmine, or something close to that. Sometimes it can take a little bit of time to help with the set-up if a story is involved.

That is more or less what happened, except the scooter was a surprise gift she ended up using much, much more than she ever wanted.
