Description A sort of prequel to my border guards picture... this is what the rangers were doing when the adventurers slew that dragon hatchling. Ironicly training to hone their skills to better repelintrouders...

On a technical side, this was the first time I ever braved painting a humanoid with so little clothing on... it was a really big headake painting that much skinn and muscles... and his knees were the biggest ake of all... knees are weird... end of story...

Yea, that yelow/brown stuff at the bottome... that's suposed to be a murky lake... I'm sure none of you owuld have guessed...

He is also indeed blindfolded... the idea is that he is learning to pinpoint his target and shoot it by the use of his hearing alone.

All in all a lousy submittion... hardly worth posting and even less worth beying watched or what not... but it's better then nothing...

This is also probably going to be the last painting I do for a while... I'm getting a new computer in a few days... with good hardwere... meaning I can now play some interesting games... Fallout 3, deadspace, Bioshock 1-2, oblivion, NWN2 and anythign else allong those lines that comes to mind...

SO yea... it will be some time till I will be able to post new stuff...

it was a tricky thing to pull off beying the first real humanoid I did almost butt naked... all those muscles and skinn tones were a pain... hope I learned something from it at least...

haha, I bet. I don't deal with that problem because I color with colored pencils...
I'm sure you learned something. and the next time you do someone butt naked, you can refer to this one to see what you did, and how to make the new one better

Now, based on the hight of the arrow's tip and the downward angle it's pointing...He's gonna miss by about a third of an inch.

huh... I realised that far too late to make any real adjustments... but hey he is shooting blindfolded... and I never said he mastered the technique yet... so yeah...

But all in all You did a quite good work with it. There are some better drawing in Your gallery, but this one is always worth watching.
The trees and generally the nature in the drawing is nice. Maybe it was hard to draw an elf but at last You did it well even the knees are good. The only thing that is a little bit strange for me is the length of his legs. Guy is quite tall .

That’s a lot of games ^^. If You’re a dedicated gamer it could last even for a year (if You’re not like me… even for 3 years xD).

elves are taller and slimmer then humans... his proportions are somewhat long on pourpouce.

thanks for stoping by...

I have already finished deadspace ( cool game ), and gotten aproximativelly halfway through Fallout 3. I was a bit dissapointed by bioshock though. and I only play NWN2 in multyplayer with a freind ( on the singleplayer campaign ) so I only play that when that friend is around. and I haven't even gotten to installing Oblivion yet.

I've played Bioshock demo and it looked quite good. What disappointed You in that game? :/

Oblivion is a game that some people get bored after 10 hours of playing and some can play it for years and still don't have enough . But IMHO it's worth playing. I hope You'll like it .

well... don't know... I guess beyign a long time fan of the fallout series, the bioshock universe just seems like a ripoff of the fallout one since they are bolth based on the same timeline. And, I guess I'm not entierly impressed by the phisics or the game enviroment. all in all, I guess it just didn't leave a very good impression on me. though I only gott to the medical pavilion, so still early.

As for oblivion, I remember playing it on my old PC... I was bearly able to run it with all setting to a minimum and a special mood that lowered game quality even more so that poorer pcs could run it... and it worked, but needless to say it looked really ugly. well, gona see about reinstalling it now on my new pc and see what full visual settings are like. douring my brief play in the original pc... it was still entertaining. although I always had a hard time figuring out what class to develope in that game.

I must admit that nowadays Oblivion graphic isn't the best even on maximum setting. But if Your hardware is enough good to run the game on maximum settings and have more than 50 FPS then I recommend to make the graphic even more better by changing some values in the .ini files . The instructions how to do it are on many Oblivion sites .

The best solution for Oblivion is to make Your own class ^^.

huhgame runs preatty smouthly even on high settings... I am impressed by the graphics mind you... ( course I only played deadspace and fallout 3 sicne I got the new pc... and neither of them have such a rich enviroment as oblivion. However the game is prooving to be a bit unstable.
Crashes ofthen when entering new areas or going inside buildings/ dungeons and ofthen when leveling up.

I of course installed a few mods so that might be the problem... got stuff like the XP fixer and mob leveling fixers ( it's absurd for all the critters in the game to level at the same time with you... )an alchemy fix that will change the display of regnants once you harvested them, a mod that gives you the dragon mount ( have yet to figure out if it works ), 2 new areas ( a hastle hor... something... don't remember, and a desert area )

2 mods on potions that change their apearance

I'm sure one of those mods also implements a few items, because that one failled somehow... as a few items won't display and I get really weird efects ( some bandits will be engulfed in this gigantic exclamation mark, probably hinting that there's somethign wrong with the texture of an item they use ( had problems with items like iron katana or armoured robes I found on some bandits in some mic dungeons )

I also have shivering isle installed...

That's about it... if you have any othernoteworthy things I could add let me know...

Great as usual I really like the trees, the elf (anatomy). The colours are also very nice. Unfortunately I don't like the perspective of the top parts of the cut tree trunks because in my opinion they look like they were cut diagonally not horizontally. But all in all the drawing is really great

You say new computer and new games? That always kills drawing for some time x) I wish you that you find some inspirations for drawing while playing those games Especially for drawing dragons xD

Have a nice day Ajder

true... I probably was a bit haesty with certain elements of thei mage... well a lot of elements. the water beying the main thing. still it was one of the best anatomical detaills I have done to date, so it wasn't a total waste of time.

And yea... new computer I can't wait to finish actually downloading some of the new games to actually try it out... I cannot even begin to explain how booring it is having a powerfull PC on your desk and have nothing to try it out on.

you are right though... it will be a no art perioud of time... not that I was doing much art to begin with anyways.

Ah well, thanks for the comment and for stoping by... so few people seem to do that these days.
