My God... I knew this art challenge is gonna take me a least six months before I finish it. I hope you remember what it was about... I really hope that you do. And if not maybe this drawing will help you recall it.

Or maybe not... after all, this character comes from the 2021 "Tom and Jerry" movie and is called... Toots. (surprised? ) The movie itself has mixed reviews. hen it comes to me, I didn't watch it and I'm not that much interested in seeing it, as I'm aware most of the movie is focused on human characters who have basically nothing to do with the famous cat and mouse duo.

Anyways, here's another Toots. Yet another love interest of Tom - I'm curious if even Tom himself is aware how many love interests he's had so far throughout the years. I can't help but just laugh about it.

By the way, I also wonder how many characters called Toots have appeared in T&J franchise so far and how many of them we are still going to meet.

Tom and Jerry Female Characters Art ChallengeAfter long considerations, I've finally created the list of characters for my upcoming T&J Art Challenge! I definitely wouldn't say it was easy! Particularly because of several issues...First of all, it turned out that eventually I picked 33 characters. Initially I thought about 30, because round numbers look nicer. Joking aside, I came up with 30 off the top of my head to be honest. However, now as I'm writing it, I realized that even though there's gonna be 33 of them, there will practically be less than that. How could that be possible? Here comes the biggest issue: some characters, mainly from the original H-B era, who appear in different shorts are basically counted as one and the same character, however they don't look identical. An example of such character is Toots, the little yellow cat. There are two Toots who look quite similar to each other and are sometimes regarded as one character. I also wasn't sure if I should draw one Toodles from one specific short or Toodles from every T&J short with her appearance. In the end, I decided on the second solution, mainly because each and every T&J short from the 40s-50s is kind of individual and along with the rest of them they don't really make a literal series, especially due to lack of continuity.Another problem is that some characters are not even named (like for example that notorious girl cat form "Blue Cat Blues", she's referred to as "Gal Cat" on the model sheet) or share exacly the same names even though they are different characters and even different species. Others have names, but most likely they were given by the fans. I will be naming the characters according to their names in Tom & Jerry Wiki.I did my best to include characters from all Tom & Jerry TV Shows and movies including the newest ones (note that I only have animal female characters in mind). It ended with picking two completely obscure characters from one episode of "Tom & Jerry Tales" and harsh selection of characters from "Tom & Jerry Show" (2014) - I didn't have a clue that there were so many female characters in that series (albeit mostly one-off or appearing in only two or three episodes... of course!) I chose only the ones I found the most recognisable and interesting. I also prioritized dog characters to give a bit of variety to this challenge.I would be a liar though if I said I mentioned all Tom & Jerry shows. The shameful exception is "Tom & Jerry Kids". I was hesitating if I should count kittens as females. On T&J Wiki they are in the "Females" category, but I decided not to include them in the challenge, regardless. I don't think they would suit the adult female cast that well. I wouldn't like the drawings to look as if they were made negligently in a hurry. You know me, after all. Also, that would be good for another reason - avoiding the monotonny. I can actually imagine a few people unwatching me because of female T&J characters. If you're an artist and especially if you're a Tom and Jerry fan, feel free to take this challenge along with me! I'd be happy to see your drawings and interpretation of the characters! Are there characters you'd particularly like to see in my art style?
