Usually everyone either likes the first evolution of a starter for its cuteness and charm, or final evolution for its cool badass design. This pokemon is one of rare cases where mid-evolution is the best and most charming.
Personally, I find it a bit sad that Oshawott overdshadows Dewott, because it felt like Dewott would be a good candidate for a great mid-evolution.

To be fair, majority likes Charizard the most (he's really popular and even got two mega-evolution, and he's even partner of Pokemon Champion in sword and shield, who in cannon is the best pokemon trainer in the world, so yaeh...)
I am surpriced you like Charmeleon over Charizard, most prefer its final evolution all the way.
