Description Finally!

I hate taking pictures, my camera hates me. Light hates me, Blacklight hates me... ahh it's horrible.
Anyway; In Barlowe's Book, Finned Snappers are predatory creatures native to Darwin IV, they hunt Small flying creatures such as jetdarters with a dexterous head-arm.thing. They are very fragile and light; the grille-like front is an air intake which allows the creaure to lift it's rear fin when it runs.

I made two small jetdarters with leftover material, big one is painted as it apperas in the book, small one as it appears on the 2005 adaptation. they are both painted with neon acryllics, so they glow vividly under blacklight. as are all the other creatures' biolights.

Awesome! But it's just me or does his head reminds me of a helmet from an anime series?

Ohhh you're right! (I was imagining a helmet with an articulated arm in front for some reason)... perhaps fantasy needs more Barlowe-Inspired helmets, XD!

Just wait till there will be  that kind of stuff (Or, already is) in an anime. I'm sure the literature-crazy and always creative Japan have  read this book. They even have their own Dougal Dixon's "After Man: The Zoology of the Future" documentary

I actually saw that japanese documentary a while ago, quite a trip! sadly there are no translations. There's also a Dougal Dixon documentary about an alien planet, have you heard of that? it's in japanese and it's titled "Greenworld"

No, sorry, they are rigid. It would be awesome, though, if I could be able to articulate them
