Description

“Take it. May it serve you better than it may have had for your mother.”
-- Orson

Very few possessions of House Esther survived its fall to the calculated horrors that saw the once proud capital of Eresiryr in flames. Tyr’s folk were left without their monarchy... or so The Hand were lead to believe. It took them nearly sixteen years to realise that the newborn daughter of the beloved Princess Leona had managed to elude their grasp, finding sanctuary within the lands the Lysenian people called home. Catelyn owed her life that day to the true young last squire of her doomed House, Orson, who reluctantly took her from the dying arms of her mother and swore to her that she would find her path and grow to be the woman the people of Eresiryr would come to call their saviour.

This dagger belonged to her mother during Tyr’s fall and was said to have been passed on to Orson in the lady’s dying hour. Though no one knows of its past other than that, Catelyn came to regard it as a treasured keepsake she used merely as a letter opener before it saved her life when The Hand sent an assassin to eliminate her on her marriage day to Klausarn Lysenia. Though it was not it that dealt the killing blow, it was enough of a reminder that the innocent woman The Hand hoped to rid of had her family’s claws.

After abandoning her love and his people, this dagger quickly served as her only defence against a world she would not betray herself to. It was only until few years afterward when she befriended the legendary Southern Blade, Razari Vanguarde, that it no longer was her weapon of choice and soon became little more than a concealed personal item.

lol, I seem to be doing well with stuff relating to Cat, this month, but I think I'll take a break from that now... since people seemingly aren't all that interested in her story. 0_o *confused*

I didn't look at this right away when it became available because I always enjoy the small stories you add for background information. You have a very interesting and seemingly well thought out world. It is always a treat to see what is the story behind the item that the artist doesn't always tell.

Allow me to correct myself:
"I didn't look at this right away when it became available because I always enjoy the small stories you add for background information."

This is because I prefer to have time to sit and read the excerpts you include. I usually don't comment but it doesn't mean it doesn't fascinate me, it just means I am lazy.

If by a proper novel, you mean, it doesn't exist. Most of what I write is fragmented anyway.
