It's not my first time--But it's been years ever since I've been able to use SAI so--

omg I remember first trying to use SAI.

It was like WHAT ARE ALL THESE BUTTONS ASDF.
And then it was like HOW DO YOU CONTROL THE BRUSH ASDF.
It will get better.

It will Mekkochan! Just mess around with the brushes a bit. You'll know pretty soon which options affect what.

Also SAI is a really sharp program. Maybe you could try a sharper style in SAI and bounce back to Photoshop for softer lines/effects ^^ I wouldn't suggest sketching in SAI if you're not used to it though.
