I can't express how much I really love all the feedback you put in my stuff man.
Can't say I draw these spontaneously but for this one, I was out of ideas so I used abstraction.
Basically I put a block of grey on a canvas and start swishing some brush strokes on it with white and darker grey or black until I can 'see' something from the mess. Refine it a bit. Then overlay colors that match, paint some more and I'm done.

Wait, so if I may ask, does that mean you draw it on the same layer so that you can 'smear' the strokes? When I tried, it doesn't have the effect of traditional paint as is how yours looks, but instead it looks like really awkwardly put-together pieces of cut paper layered on top of each other?

Yep. I draw it on the same layer.
Maybe you should try lowering the opacity or flow of the brush.
