Samus from Fusion. So, I haven't seen a whole lot of good Metroid Fusion Fanart. I decided to draw this a few days ago and finally got around to coloring it. I really liked the way the lineart came out, But I'm not completely happy with the colors... perhaps I will add this to my long list of peices I want to rework color-wise.

If you thought 'otherwise' with my comment, you probably observed a robot; a camera for an eye, six sabered, levitating machine decapitating a PTMC (Post Terran Mining Corporation) employee.
And probably thought... wait.. material does that? That's if you noticed the "Coalbank MatCen" board.
MatCen: Materialization Center; Creation of material things.
Thinking... wait.. I know what material means... nuh uh. It means The Product Of Materialization: Creation/Appearance of Matter.

Worst...suit...design...to EVER...come out of Nintendo. I swear they wanted to kill off Samus and the Metroid series with this...it's like they wanted to dress her up as a party clown and spray confetti out of her cannon. I'm sure the story is top notch and spectacular, but this suit........hell no. just hell no. No, no, Nin-ten-NO! I CAN'T be the only one who hates this!
Justified opinion aside...
The work put into this piece is astonishing, the attention to detail, the action pose, shadowing, all great. The blast does need to have a bit of a glowing effect to be a little bit better, but that's my only iffy part. Otherwise, keep up the good work ^_^

Colors came out well. Only criticism really is you could use a stronger highlight on the cannon and mask (reflecting from the blast)
You draw the suit well, particularly the helmet/backpack areas

metroid fusion is my favorite game. I love this! color awesome! style great! Although, there's one thing that looks off. this might sound funny, but i tried standing in the pose she is presented in this picture and what i got out of it was she will fall back if she stood like that. The back leg needs to be under the body to work right. just try standing that way and see. Also i realized this was submitted in 2008 and you may not need this kind of help. sorry.

She probably dashed forward and is leaning so much back to halt. The dust on the ground indicates this.
It's also how I explain the fat legs, as highly contracted suit-muscles...

hey the pic rocks at this very moment. But you're right about the colors...something is missing. I realized what it was. It's not Samus, its the background. Its drab, you can do better. Also, the beam's projectile could be a diff color. That would help too.
Nice pic as it is. Would be better if the background and beam shot were changed up a bit, you know, gotta make the colors more vibrant, more contradictory, more ALIVE.

@Cenaris: they infused her with metroid DNA remember? those little sharp things on the side are "metroid teeth" and the three orbs on her back resembles a metroid nuclei. I really like how this came out btw! favoring!

I honestly don't get how Samus' suit, after having the most of its outer layers cut off ends up looking like this, but I like the fusion suit anyway. Good fan art of it.
