Description I made a charm for my friend's birthday the other day~ I really need to get some black paint so that I stop using sharpie on my clay to make it black... It gets runny when I put nail polish on top to glaze it and sort of starts running all over the place and gets black everywhere... D: Hope you like it~ ^^

Are you using water based nail polish *question mark* Anything with certain acetones in it can cause the clay to break down after a few months or become sticky. Have you had any trouble with the clay becoming sticky over time (after baking and then nail polish)

A really good finish for polymer clay I have found is Varathane waterbased floor finish. It is really glossy and durable, and does not yellow over time.

I only started trying to glaze my charms with nail polish during the last month or so, so I still don't know if it'll cause the clay to become sticky over time... I wanted to try using Mod Podge because I heard that it works as a finish/glaze, but I heard that it dries sort of sticky and that you still have to coat it with an actual glaze/finish.

Oh, ok! I thought you were using polymer clay. Model Magic may be ok. Good job on your stuff, model magic is not the easiest thing to get detail in.

haha, thank you~ ah, yes, it's very hard to get details with model magic~ that's why i tend to use molds for the basic cupcake shape~

Umm... I'm not sure what sort of nail polish it is~ I use model magic (air dry clay) to make my charms. So far, my charms have all been ok~ Ohhhhh, floor finish? Do you have to buy it in large quantities or do they sell smaller bottles/cans of it?

You can get it in smaller quantities online, but you will pay 2/3rds what the big can costs. I caved and I am so glad I did. I won't have to buy more for a very long time.
