Description I had to loosen up with some low-pressure, experimental bits. Thanks to the folks on requesk for volunteering their esks! I'd say of the three, only the top one turned out how I'd envisioned, but I don't count 1/3 as a failure : ) I really need to practice more thick brush, I'm never satisfied with that.

The esk shown are:
yue-gui 's 232
LadyJennaGray 's 989
Karijinni 's 989

My Summer break is so close I can taste it - then the comms and such will begin full force. I just have to de-stress the days leading up to it. Thank you for your patience!

They are all so beautiful! I love how you really bring out the elegance and mysterious, spiritual quality in Esks, as well as their unique natures with the features that they have really communicating their characters.

These are all so stunning! They all have such a palpable mood and I love how much they all look like a snippet of a real day in that esk's life, even if (like in 232's case ) they're not actually moving. Really love these colors too! T_T

That middle one is really inspiring to me. It makes me want to practice with that sort of lighting/atmosphere

Do you have any sort of tips for creating soft lighting like that? I love how the light shines through the objects that stand further apart from the main source. (The fur from the body/the leaves and grass further from the main bunch) I have a hard time recreating that feeling.

I usually take the color of the background light, make it slightly whiter, and do a soft brush overtop the edges, sometimes blurring parts. I don't know how much that helped or if I correctly understood, but basically it's mostly making the character's/object's color/sharpness match the lighting.
