in my opinion, Impressionism is gone, the subject matter that they concern, is so different from what my painting concerns now. So, I rather call my style as contemporary painting.

I have always been an art lover but I went the academic route through school and I now wish I had studied art. I want to learn how to draw and paint. My son is taking art at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada and he is 'teaching' me along with my friend who is a painter (mostly of realism) I have a brother who makes wonderful mosaics and does printmaking so I am surrounded by various styles and mediums. They've bought me some beginner's supplies and I'm gonna try to learn from the beginning now that I'm 50-something. LOL
