Description "If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?...
Woncha fly high freebird?"
- Lynyrd Skynyrd "Freebird"

Another direct music inspiration, this time by southern rock legends instead. Why do I like drawing cars jumping? Because I can't do it that well in real life. Oh and credit goes to whose '69 Charger pics helped me understand the right lines of this '68 example. So go check out his gallery.

I still don't think I have made an excellent Dodge Charger pic ever, but I'm getting closer.

The Dodge Charger belongs to Chrysler LLC. AgentC and the artwork belong to me.

Comments and suggestions welcome. Enjoy!

I was half expecting this car to be the Genaral Lee!

Close enough since the General was the same car as this just with a little bit of customization!

Well, this one's a Charger, but I agree with the Firebird assessment. Thanks a lot for the comment nonetheless!

You HAVE to be part "Duke!" Might I recommend counter weights in the trunk and rocket additions to assist this procedure?

My dad may have it in him, he was the one with the '69 Charger 440. Thanks a lot for the input, Dave!

It's always fun to see a '69 Charger in flight....brings back a lot of Duke Boys memories. A classic design to which I'm very familiar.

BTW, have you seen any of the new "teaser" shots of the 2011 Dodge Charger?

'69s are fun to see in flight for sure, that's why I switched it up and tried a '68. And yeah, I've seen the rear end shot of the 2011 prototype and it looks better than the current one. I still hold out to see the front end though.

Indeed, I've only seen a white '11 rear view which I agree looks alot better. I watched the Chrysler/Fiat press conference earlier this month and they had a side view which looks great. I've seen some online renditions of the front and it seems it will look alot like the current model. No doubt the interiors will be better. I'm just thankful Chrysler is still in business and new 300's/Chargers/ Challengers will be coming for the years to come.

BTW, my brother had a '68 and '69 Chargers and they were certainly head turners. I have a pic with me with the '68 somewhere.

Yeah, I am happy to Chrysler still kickking for now, especially with the 300/Charger/Challenger platform intact. I just hope their updates can keep them in the game.

Takes quite a lot of nerve to make a jump alright. There may be unspeakable consequences, but it looks cool at least!

Haha, actually this is a pretty sweet work, it's quite an eye-catcher to say the least. I like the low angle you chose for it, it really provides a nice bit of action.

That's why I jump only on paper! And thanks a lot for the input here, I would like to improve on getting the car's underside figured out. Always appreciated.

Cool, dynamic picture. It reminds me of a scene from "Dukes of Hazzard" or "Cannonball Run".

With the Charger here, I completely understand the link to the Dukes. Love that show and this car. Thanks a lot!

I love Lynyrd Skynard, I'm wearing a t-shirt of them right now, and I love "Free Bird"...But I can honestly say I have never interpreted the song that way. That is such a very interesting, creative and unique way of putting the song. ...That is AWESOME.
Great job with the car and the scenery, it's obvious you put a lot of work into it Great work!!

A lot of stuff for me is linked with cars, so I would understand if most had a different interpretation. I just always saw this as great chase music (at least the end part). Thanks a lot for the kind words, pal!

Wow, I can only see that car meeting a sticky end...
Anyhow, I really like the perspective here, and the detail on the Charger's underside is pretty well done. And of course, the song fits this very well indeed. Nice work!
