Thank you. He was a special dog.
And thanks for the fave.

He barked at a St. Francis statue and ran through a screen door. He was sweet, but not so bright. That was our little darling.

I love dogs. They're so hilarious.
I saw a sign that said "Guard Collie." A, Collies are known for being sweet and playful. B, my Collie didn't have the brains God would give a goose. Not exactly ideal guard dog material.

Awwwww, thank you.
He was an absolute doll. It's exactly like losing a human. In fact, I liked him better than I do most humans.
It's been eleven months and I still miss him terribly, but I know he's in a better place. Waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for me.
I wish I wrote that poem. I got it from a gravestone. Did I credit the gravestone? I forget.

My cats don't even like me and I still like them more than most people! (For one thing, my cats are cuter. For another, I think they just don't like anything.)
When I see him again, he will be tackled. Out of love.
I'm jealous. I wish I wrote it.

I'm both. Cats are good for low-key cuddles, while dogs are good for when you're feeling playful or want a pet that likes you. (My cats are mean.)
True, true.

Exactly. That's so funny, my friend is so mean to her cats! She pushes them off the couch when they just sit there!

Sometimes my girl cat will paw at my bedroom door when I'm trying to sleep so I cuddle her and then say "Now go away." And sometimes I just don't get up.

I like cuddling with my cat (and my other cat, and my dog, but my other cat and dog are no longer with us), but when I want to. Besides, she might just want to make me mad.

Thank you. I am sorry about both of your pets. Just keep praying for your dog; I just said a quick prayer for her.

Collies are beautiful dogs. I am so very sorry about your loss. They are like babies to us.. And the hurt will never go away, not entirely. I lost my little girl Sophie November 9, 2010 and I still ache for her.

Thank you. Yes, they are beautiful. And sweet. And supposedly very intelligent. (Mine was kind of clueless, but in a cute way.)
The worst part is, he was my only dog. I have two cats, but they're not exactly people persons. Peeve, he loved everything. It's been about ten or so months and everytime I see a dog I almost lose it. I could never replace Peeve, and I'd never try to, but... you can't replace a dog's love either. I miss having that around. Does that make sense?

Perfect sense. I am now looking into fostering Shelties, but I still don't think I'm quite ready for a dog around yet.
No pup can ever replace Soph, and yet I do miss having a dog around because they are such unique animals.
I have a cat as well, and I love her to pieces but she can be very moody at times.

We might get a dog in a few months. I don't want to jinx it though, so I'll say no more.

Thank you. You really can't understand how it feels until you've been there.
Wow, 21 years! I'd love to have a cat live that long! My grandmama's cat, the oldest cat I've ever known, died at age 18 or so. She was an ELDERLY cat. She was older than me!

Oh, I'm so sorry! When my dog Baily died it was one of the worst days of my life. I hope you feel better, this is a beautiful tribute!

Thanks for the condolences.
Yeah, sadly it was just horrible luck. It wasn't even like he was always sickly. For the first six and three quarters of his life, he was perfectly healthy and then about three or four months before his seventh birthday, that all went to hell. (I think he got sick around my birthday. Happy effing birthday, Caroline.)

What a sweet poem for him. I, to, know what it's like to lose a beloved pet. But it's true, God only takes the best! My heart goes out to you.

Understandable, some things you have to be there for in order to truly feel it. I do pray your heart heals!
