D'aww, his smiling happy face is so cute~
I love the black "liner" markings around his ear tips, eyes, and mouth. For whatever reason that just makes him even cuter to me.

He is a happy and carefree puppy so I wanted to show that in the portrait as well. Hence the smiling happy face! 
I am glad you like his markings; I adore them as well!
The person who designed him made great job keeping the design simple but yet adding some interesting details to give it a personal touch.
