The shading is great, the anatomy looks spot-on, and I love the genuinely fun expression on it's face!

I know it isn't your character. But the ears are also squee.

kaunis ja yksinkertanen, tykkään tosi paljon. extra-pisteet pilvistä! rakastan just tollasia pilviä, ne vaan on niin pehmeitä ja luonnostelumaisia (paremman sanan puutteessa..), jotenki realistisia vaikka silti epärealistisia

I wanted to keep this simple so the feeling of this sketch would be serene and so that Kasy's appearance would be the main focus point.

This is really nice, its very peaceful.



I have to point this out though, it looks like the critter is laying on air. If that is not the point, then you forgot a horizon line or something of the like to separate ground and sky.

Yay! It was nice surprise to see that you have been spamming (in a good way of course) my inbox.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. You had good perception again: I was trying to create a feeling that viewer can't say for sure in what kind of environment Kasy is laying. Is it ground or some not that material place? Everyone can make their own interpretation. - So yes, the horizon line is left out on purpose. ^^

I do that also from time to time - and now I have about 200 messages piled again.

I wish dA would give separate numbers (and links) for deviations, messages and notes back. Those huge numbers makes me feel that I will never get all messages answered! Although I know biggest part of them are deviations. But it would great atleast to be able to see immediately if you have notes, now you have to hoover over Messages section.

The dragon's so fluffy and great, but I always like how you do your backgrounds. Like those fluffy clouds thar that perfectly compliment the fluffiness of Kasy ^w^

When I have been drawing these "10 free sketches" I have learned that I really like drawing clouds with pencils! That can be the reason why I have been putting them almost in every picture...

Oh wows! ....she's so pretty.
I like her markings, even tho this is just a sketch is so good... You are pretty good with pencils, somehow i never had the patience for them because I'd smudge the drawing each time.

I smudge sometimes too by accident even tho I desperately try to avoid it by putting clean piece of paper under my drawing hand... the softer pencils the more mess. And I don't see myself as a pencil artist - they're fun now and then but I don't have patience (or skill) to draw those photo-like images the best ones do.

I used pencils a lot before, now I just don't have the nerves anymore, I just want colors...I think I'm having a color rush.

I guess colors in that work would be more composed if I wasn't in desperate need of colors.

I loose my patience just by sketching . But on the end I love the result I get when I color that sketch, so I compose myself until I finish sketching...The greatest thing is that it never takes me long to color the work(except on extreme occasions).

For me coloring is the part of creating picture that takes longest (or sometimes it is getting the idea but let's not count that part). I think it also depends which tool you use: with watercolors you have to be fast and get wanted result at the first try. But with colored pencils you can add details after details and fix errors.

And of course some people just are faster in coloring than others; I belong in slow colorers.

Well you can do watercolors in phases too, you can add things later...it's all about planing...they really demand that you have the general idea of what you want to achieve, but they will sometimes surprise you with the outcome too.

Nyt on tullut postailtua tavallista enemmmän, kun oli tämä "10 free sketches" -projekti. Mutta tämä kuva oli niistä viimeinen, eli nyt ei ainakaan enempää lyikkäritöitä vähään aikaan.

Juuh, kadun aina viimeistään viidennen työn kohdalla, että mitä meninkään lupaamaan!
Kiva muiden hahmoja siis on piirtää, mutta projektin valmiiks saamisesta kehittää aina vähän stressiä ja muut työt tulee siirrettyä sivuun.

Ahaha voi parkaa <3 No mutta selvisit kuitenkin! Ja ihan totta, sen takia en varmaan nykyisten juttujen jälkeen ota vähän aikaan tradeja/collabeja/mitään vastaan :/ Niitä on ihan sikakiva tehdä, mutta mä stressaan liikaa ja stressaan tuplasti enemmän aina kun olen myöhässä ja hidas kaiken kanssa :E

Juu selvisin, ja tällä kertaa ei menny ees kahta kuukautta, niin kuin edellisellä kerralla.

Jooh, tulee vaan aiheutettua itselle art block (taidetukos? ), jos haalii liikaa töitä. Pitää aina välillä olla tilaa tehdä ihka omia juttuja.

Suolistovaivat itelläkin tuli tuosta sanasta mieleen, mutta kyllähän tässä taiteen tekemisessä on välillä vähän samanlaista luomisen tuskaa... Oikein osuva tuo sun kuvaus!
