My entry for the @kahibo.anime DTIYS-Challenge
. I tried to practice and try out a lot of things with this illustration. I started out tracing the original to get a gist of the characters and then tried out many a lot of different faces and such. After I found a final pose and a fitting style I cleaned the lines up and added the base colors. Then I continued to find an idea for the background with an AI tool. After I found a generated good rough base I edited it out a lot to my liking. And of course added some more shadows and lighting to place the characters into it.
At first the illustration was a little big and the characters got lost in it so I shrunk it down with the help of some good old black movie like rectangles on the top and the bottom ^^. After that I did some more editing with colors and some effects.
