The last from the crazy crazy sunset at Ke'e Beach on the 12/30. Just nuts. Went with a minimalist comp here to contrast the texture of the sky and water. What a scene!Thanks for the c/c!

Nothing is ever straight out of the camera...standard digital darkroom...dodging/burning/contrast/color correction etc. One hell of a sunset!

Amazing! This looks like a volcanic haze sunset. I wonder if any significant volcanoes around the world had erupted previous to this shot... It would explain the exceptional colors!

Well Kilauea has been erupting for 20+ years. Though this is not a vog sunset...just crazy clouds

Yeah I suppose so. I've lived in Minnesota my whole life and haven't had the opportunity to have the hands on experience I craved. Funny how a small town kid in the most geologically dead part of the US wants to become a volcanologist!
