Out of curiosity, what tool do you use to assemble the frames into an animated gif?

I use VirtualDub for assembling the frames and Infarview for lowering the color depth.
I already wrote a journal about the whole process, here is the link:

Also, try APNG, since it allows you to use the full color range!(its on the journal too!)
BTW, incredible animation!!

VirtualDub? I use it to save as AVI, where is the command to save as gif?

It's on the export section, in the file tab. (File/Export/Animated Gif)

Yes, that definitely help! So, I have decreased color depth on all frames like you said in Irfanview (Floyd Steinberg) and saved them as jpg. The frames look still very good. But when saving the animated gif with Virtualdub, I still see some horrible color bands. What did I do wrong?

That works great! But I have another question before I update my animated gif. How can I change the frame rate in Vdub? It seems that the exported gif does not take into account what I input in the Video/Frame Rate control window. Thanks!

OK, but when I look at your animated gifs, they look like 25 fps or more, and vdub default is 10 fps. So you confirm you use vdub to export the gif??

I use VirtualDub v1.9.11
I just import the BMP image sequence, and touch nothing, just the export Gif option.

See [link]
The dithering look good, but not the frame rate. I use the same vdub version as you, and followed all instruction, load the BMPs and directly export as gif, so that's a mystery!
Do you confirm that by default, you are keeping the radio button "No change (current: 10.000 fps)" in the Video/frame rate menu?
