Description
Name: Jalaiya
First Appearance: The Unknown: Before Diablos
Species: Angel
Age: Unknown
Social status: Known as the Angel of Death, or the one angel everyone should be afraid of fighting, there isn't a single living creature that knows of Jalaiya that doesn't shiver at the mere thought of meeting her.
Role in story: In the prequel, Jalaiya attempts to convince Katie of how useless her attempts to saving Leon and herself from being hosts. Through most of the first book, Jalaiya is attempting to control Katie's body because of Leon and hence forth Diablos being close by. She wishes to tear him apart from the inside and out, by any means necessary. It takes most of Katie's power to prevent Jalaiya from taking control.
Weapons/Arsenal: Jalaiya has a golden armor that covers her body, including her wings. This armor protects against almost every kind of attack, but is also light enough for Jalaiya to move in her lightning fast speeds. The one weapon she uses, a golden bow and arrow, is not to be taken lightly. She infuses every shot with her power, a single arrow hitting a normal human would cause the targeted limb to either be torn off on the spot or rip a hole through their upper to lower body. These arrows can multiply and can erupt electricity from them, able to kill several people with just one. Against only the strongest opponents, she will summon her sword, Soul Shredder, as the idea of ripping it into him and tearing it through every part she possibly can excites her. Anything cut by this sword will immediately known why it is called this, soaked in angel tears. Not only will you feel the pain of a deadly sharp blade stabbing or slicing any part of you, you'll be feeling the psychological pain of your worst memories at the same time even from the slightest cut.
Powers: Jalaiya controls electricity, able to release power from any part of her body including her hair. She can fade away, almost like a ghost and reappear anywhere. She has great regenerating abilities, not taking long to reform any lost limbs. Her hair can extend almost anywhere, transforming into whatever she likes. This includes chains or barbed wire to ensnare her opponent (much stronger and tighter than the real thing would be), knives, blades, even chain saw blades that can tear apart a foe from every direction. Her amazing control of her powers allows her to weaken or raise her own attacks to almost any degree, so that weaker foes do not die as quickly and feel more pain.
Background: Jalaiya is the first and only angel created by Death. Death created her in hopes that she might allow him to feel some sort of happiness in life. Those hopes were crushed when she was rejected by the other angels, their cruelty towards her seemingly endless. Jalaiya was lost for most of her life until the future King Lioness took her in. Because of her connection to the first people to accept her, Jalaiya was very protective of them. She had developed an enjoyment of making her enemies suffer, much like her father, from the angels that had tormented her as a child. She turned against her father alongside Diablos when he began to try to exterminate all life.
Diablos was the first person she ever truly came to love, to a point where she would attack anything that even would suggest the slightest thing against him. Because of her contributions with Diablos toward helping all living creatures, they both became worshiped and praised by many. Jalaiya even met the true angels, all who accepted her so warmly she had begun to see them as her family with Diablos. When she heard that Diablos slaughtered them, it destroyed her spirit. Her mind was so set on it being the ultimate betrayal, she didn't listen to anything from him about it not being true. Before the battle that would separate their souls from their bodies, there was a human she had met that had almost made her feel again. After a brief exchange, she was pregnant with a child when she fought Diablos. She didn't care about taking care of this child, only forcing Diablos to feel all the pain she had felt in her heart.
Iris cursed them both along with Death, who had achieved his goal in turning Diablos and Jalaiya against each other. In her empty body, Iris sealed Jalaiya inside of her daughter Lilith who was barely old enough to be born when she was left with her father. It wasn't long that Jalaiya awoke in her daughter, knowing Diablos wasn't dead. Unable to find Diablos anywhere, Jalaiya spent her entire time with her daughter teaching her to hate him, and to not trust anyone. She made it Lilith's life mission to kill Diablos the day he returned, knowing he would eventually. Because of Jalaiya's infused blood, Lilith aged much more slowly than any human in history. She was barely considered a mature adult by the time the present times came, Jalaiya's lessons making her almost as cold and emotionless as her mother was.
Personality: Completely insane, Jalaiya takes great enjoyment in the suffering of others. It was originally only towards people who would harm her or anyone she cared about, but over centuries, she came to enjoy any kind of pain in anyone. Watching people break inside became her favorite hobby. She enjoys tricking people, even her own daughter. While sealed in Katie, her grand daughter, she begins to show signs of other emotions as the differences in their souls begin to clash and form. Anything that she dislikes she attempts to destroy it, no matter what it is. Her soul is driven by the idea of destroying Diablos in the most painful way possible, and will tear apart anything that stands in her way, even Katie.
Hobbies: Learning new torture methods, torturing enemies mentally and physically, making people squirm, taking control of Katie's body when she least expects it
Likes: Tormenting Leon, fighting Diablos and injuring him in any way or form, giving into lust, blood, looks of despair, darkness, feeling pain, fighting a challenge
Dislikes: Being resisted, losing, her father Death, her family, Diablos, feeling emotions she deems as weak such as love
Fun Fact: Jalaiya eventually finds a strange infatuation with Leon, but not in a way that would be considered love. Her feelings being combined with Katie's, she grows an obsession of fighting him, as well as stalking him in any way or form, even in his dreams.
